Came here on Christmas Eve, hoping it wouldn’t be crowded, and we were sorely mistaken. Quite crowded for the day before Christmas, but the holiday magic was alive and well.

Worth seeing if you’re hoping to get into the holiday spirit. Just don’t wear heels, unless you’re a pro…the cobblestone path is not for the faint of heart.

City centre at its best. Lots of shops and restaurants, so easy to walk around and explore. It's a very nice area you will walk nearby lots of big sights like the council or Chinatown, just pace around.

We enjoyed coming through here and took lots of pics but were kind of surprised at how small it was. It's really just a few blocks. If you're into graffiti art at all, it is a must-see. There's great street art all over Toronto though, so don't worry if you miss this one area.

With just a fairly short journey you are out of the city and in this peaceful haven of nature. There are a number of lovely walks and we enjoyed walking along the boardwalk and seeing all the turtles. The cafe served very good lunches and there is a nice garden centre.

Doors open Toronto takes place the last Saturday and Sunday of May every year.
This event takes place all across Toronto and is free of charge other then your transportation cost and in some cases parking fees will apply. There are approximately 150 buildings open to the public. Several buildings participate yearly in this event while others come and go depending on the theme for the current year. Each year at the beginning of May a new list of buildings is posted on the doors open Toronto website. 2018 was themed around the theatre and the movie making industry in Toronto, everything from sound stages, lighting and camera corporations, production facilities, costume designers and rental agencies were all participating.
Many heritage sites including churches, theatres, and government buildings open parts or all of there buildings to the public with some providing guided tours explaining history and architectural features the public may never have seen or known about. This event only happens one weekend each year rain or shine and it is a great way to learn about the city of toronto and its history
