- Ian CToronto, Canada279 contributionsI've been fortunate to have played the Abbey many, many times in the 90's in its prime and while the layout is still great, the conditioning and attention to detail was lacking (for my expectations).
Greens rolled fantastic (I saw them rolling the greens in the morning), fairways and tees were in good shape. Bunkers - well, still no rakes available - so they were ok. Practice range was in great shape. So the course was good.
My compliant were the details. Big weeds growing in gardens. Many sections of cart path in dire need of repair/replacement. No buckets on the fairway mowers, so there were grass clippings everywhere. The hole signs needed attention as paint was missing on many. No starter at the tee. Girl in the pro shop was not friendly. Restaurant was closed until 11 (so no coffee or muffins anywhere). Staff in the parking lot were not attentive and I had to interrupt their conversation to get a cart. Maybe I'm just too picky but for the price and the reputation - I was disappointed.Written 16 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Staff was great.
Highly recommended - great way to spend a couple of hours and keep that swing in shape.Written 22 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We played the nine hole Angel’s View course. They have a second 18 hole Mystic Ridge. The course itself was in good condition and has a few gentle hills, walkable for us. The staff are very friendly and informative, they also serve as the starter. There are a few longer holes, Par 5. Intermittent shady spots and some benches throughout. Very popular spot for all level of golfers.
The clubhouse is very nice and upscale experience for a public course. We enjoyed a lovely lunch on their patio. This open area has a very high permanent roof structure providing full shade while leaving room for umbrellas to add a coziness at your table. We also enjoyed a lovely breeze and a view of part of the course and gardens. Service was excellent. Lunch was delicious!. Clubhouse sandwich and “bird” on a bun were prepared expertly. The fries and onion rings were perfectly crunchy. It was a great experience. 👍⛳️Written 19 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Can't tell the difference btw the fairways and the rough. A few holes are under water. Range isn't open.Written 19 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jan154982Oakville, Canada479 contributionsWe booked a Father’s Day dinner in the Eighteen Restaurant at Glen Abbey Golf Club. They seated us in front of the window of the dining room with an amazing view. Very relaxing. We started with appetizers of calamari and fresh homemade buns with butter and 3 various dipping oils and sauces.
For the main course we ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables, rainbow trout with potato fingerlings and vegetables, homemade hamburger with fries and lobster linguini. All our dinners were amazing, delicious and the food presentation was perfect. The Chardonnay wine and white sangria drink were also delicious.
The service from our waitress and chef, servers at Glen Abbey was outstanding. We’ll definitely be back again soon!Written 22 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is really well maintained and it has a nice putting green and chipping area. The best part is that unlike some ranges in the area its facing south-east so you are not hitting into the sun and you can actually follow your ball. Another plus is that it has a nicely maintained hockey themed mini-putt which is great if you want to bring kids along while you are at the range, they can play a round of mini-putt. The cost is comparable to ranges in the area. The only negative is that its a mosquito farm for some reason and you will get eaten alive if you go in the evening and/or don't put on bug spray. They actually offer it for free because it gets pretty bad. Its definitely better than an average range.Written 28 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
