This place is so stunning I wish I could give it a hundred stars!!! Loved the view of the mountains, snow, forests, animals and the skies altogether!! Be sure to visit Banff too if you have the time!
The views along the route are amazing, there is lots to see, especially mountains, lakes, glaciers and waterfalls and lots of wildlife with lots of places to stop along the way for photo's.

Bow Valley Parkway is stunning, I highly recommend it!!! the views are stunning, the wildlife that can been seen is wonderful and when your in the towns the locals are very friendly.
... lower canyon (20mins each way and HIGHLY recommend) at Johnston canyon and also loads of pics from the castle mountain view point and it would have taken us about 3.5-4hours - very leisurely and very beautiful.

We are currently on a bus tour and had some free time to explore benefit on our own we chose to walk the Avenue enjoy the stores it was a great day little smoky due to some fires but otherwise great sites in stores

We enjoyed the Banff Sightseeing Tram ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain where we had a wonderful view of downtown Banff, Bow River and Bow Falls, and the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel.
... fantastic spot highlighting the Hotel and mountains, or take a decent down a fairly steep trail to the river's edge to get a beautiful view looking up towards the hotel and beautiful blue waters running past it.
