We did a combo deal that included gondola and buffet dinner at Northern Lights — it ran about CAN$103/person. This worked out great — we were “uploaded” about 70 minutes before our dinner reservation. This gave us enough time to walk out to Samson Peak and enjoy the boardwalk scenery before we ate. Then we could dine as the sun went down and lights of Banff came on.

We didnt spend much time in exhibits or store, but those are other ways to enhance your visit and make it worth the rather steep price.

There are so many “Wow” moments in the Canadian Rockies but the “Wow” moment when you first see Moraine Lake from the top of the Rockpile really is one of the best, particularly in the early morning. From the mountains at the head of the lake to the beautiful colour of the water and a short but rewarding lakeside trail to the inlet stream, the Lake is a wonderful place to be. Canoeing on the lake is easy and peaceful and a great way of appreciating the wonder of nature.

Such a beautiful place to visit. I highly recommend it. We were able to park at the top due to my husband's handicap tag so I cant comment on the walk from the lower parking general lot. The walk to the look out from the handicapped lot was still a bit hard for my husband but doable. If you cant walk a fair distance you might not be able to handle this even from the upper disabled lot. Once you get to the overlook looking over the lake it is beyond words. It was snowing in Sept when we went which so added a magical mystic quality to the views and we totally enjoyed ourselves. The decking can be VERY slick in the wet and snow and I was very nervous about my hubby slipping and he held onto the railings .. I highly recommend this amazing place.

A beautiful lake with a superb mountain backdrop, but the huge volume of people makes this much harder to appreciate than Moraine Lake for example. There is nowhere that is not teeming with visitors and there is neither peace nor solitude to be found. The Fairmont Hotel as a backdrop to the Lake works better the further away from it you get.

On the last day of our tour we stopped here to have lunch and take a boat tour. Like most of the lakes in the area a beautiful glacier fed lake with lots of mountains and scenery around. Also a great place to have a picnic by the lake before getting in the bus to finish the vacation with a drive back to Calgary.

Make sure you get a seat in the shade (there’s a map on the site that shows shade and cover). We went on the opening day and it was HOT! Absolutely loved the show. Easy to buy snacks and drinks

Your eyes won’t believe the believe that surrounds you. Truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. The drive is easy, hardest part is having to keep focused on the road and not want to stop every 5 minutes to take pictures.

Go EARLY! If you don't go early, you won't get parking and there will be a line to view the canyon fall through the little cave. It was a great hike but would have been terrible if we had gotten there too late.

It's been 40 years since I've been to Heritage Park, and it has blossomed into a fun, educational visit for the entire family. From the moment you enter the gates, you sense the effort put into recreating the events and people who shaped today's Calgary and environs.
The Gasoline Alley Museum is extraordinary, and it's hard to believe that most vehicles are from one person's (Mr Ron Carey) private collection! I had the opportunity to talk to one of the volunteers, and his excitement about working was palpable.
Walking into the Heritage Park village is a journey of discovery, with the beautiful Glenmore Reservoir, the paddlewheel SS Moyie, a spooking coal mine, and the warden's hut. The employees, with their friendly and engaging nature, make you feel like a part of the history. It would have been even more enriching if some of them had a backstory for their role at a particular exhibit.
Any young child would awed by the feeling of walking along Front Street in the old town of Heritage Park. I was that kid many years ago, and the wonder of it hasn't faded.
    Well worth the trip!

A nice, shady walk along the Bow River Trail, following the art in nature trail, brings you to the Bow Falls. Wide, impressive and accessible.

A fun and unique experience not to be missed! Our guide, John, was patient, knowledgeable, and encouraged us to push past our comfort zones in a safe and empowering way. We learned so much about the history of the area and the cave and had a blast while doing so!
