What travellers are saying
- Anthony S7 contributionsThe interactive gallery was amazing and Erick was a great host. I would recommend it highly to anyone visiting San Jose Los Calbos.Written 7 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Diana S7 contributionsBeautiful quiet beach. We went end of October and early in the moring so there were very few people. We were easily able to rent an umbrella and 2 beach chairs for $20 US. The water is warm and a beautiful blue. You have to be careful where you step as there are underwater rocks. If you go further to the right from the enterance there are fewer rocks. Parking is right on the beach so be careful where you park so you don't get dug in. But if you do get stuck, everyone is so kind and helpful, you'll be out in no time.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RazorfishLittle Rock, AR5,490 contributionsPlaza Mijares is a retail plaza in San Jose del Cabo. This location was the site of our excursion in Cabo on our Viking Ocean Cruise this past January. We were on our own to shop for about an hour. This was more than enough time to look around the church and the plaza area.Written 13 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WrldadventToronto, Canada454 contributionsBeautiful white sand beach perfect for Lounging, walking and bathing. Surf can be rough, perfect for surfing during the summer, so may need to be a strong swimmer. Baby sea turtles come out of the sand nests in November. What a treat.Written 13 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jim FGowanda, NY184 contributionsA beautiful and quaint local church right in the center town.
You don’t need much time here unless you want to go inside to pray.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We’ve been all over the peninsula and never back to San Jose Del Cabo.
One of the workers at our resort recommended to go see it and we were not disappointed.
It is way quieter than Cabo and there were some unique sites to see.
It was a nice day trip, even though we only spent the afternoon.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. And he had lots of good advice for our daughter, who wants to be an artist. Stop by and check it out!Written 11 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Holly5 contributionsThis was a nice spot to hang out and do a little shopping. The shops are more touristy and expensive. Some shops you can haggle and bargain with, but the prices are still high.
On a nice weather day, you can get ice cream or some fruits and this would be a great place to walk around and explore. They also have restaurants you can visit and other cute boutique shops.Written 8 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. That comes with a food/credit credit. We ordered 2 margaritas. $26!! Very expensive for Cabo. No chips and salsa. Come for the beach and bring your own drinks.Written 29 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- rwherrickSan Jose, CA43 contributionsThe hotel zone in San Jose Del Cabo has a wide beach out in front of it. The beach has very coarse sand towards the back, becoming finer as you go down to the water. All the reviews say it’s too dangerous to swim in the beach, due to undertow, rip tides, and an unpredictable and rapid fall-off underwater. That having been said, you will see a few people in the water, although I didn’t see any swimming the day we went. One challenge I found was getting access to the beach. Some of the areas that area supposed to be access points have locked gates across them. The only three we found were:
1) the most famous one (between the two Royal Solaris properties and across the street from Santo Pulpo). Google maps shows “Playa Ocampo” as an icon at the southern end of the passage.
2) One down the end of Bahia Del Las Palmas, next to Viva 14 (there may also be a nearby one next to Las Mananitas.
3) One on the east end of Paseo Malecon just east of the Vidanta resort that is labelled as a public access point on Google maps.
There are far fewer vendors here than on Medano beach, and my family enjoyed visiting twice during our week in San Jose Del Cabo. Note the water much of the year can be pretty cold as well – in the low 70’s Farenheit when we visited.Written 26 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When we were there, for some reason the place was nearly empty. Not sure why as it was a Friday late afternoon. I’d have expected a lot more tourists. On the plus side, it made it easier to look around in the small shops. The shops are mostly run by their owners and so bargaining is possible. There are a lot of shops selling the same thing, so you may want to walk around a bit before purchasing.Written 16 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
