What travellers are saying
- Mikayela WKeizer, OR18 contributionsThe beach was nice it was not too crowded if you use the part of the beach behind the stoned crab restaurant. They charge for beach chairs there and umbrella. Well maintained area behind the restaurant and swing set on the beach perfect photo opportunity! You can get taxi from port $14 round trip per person.Written 8 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveler Lady2 contributionsFound some good deals. I bought a sweatshirt and hat. My friends bought tons of souvenirs. It was fun to see some of the culture and talk to locals.Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Francine W14 contributionsI love to visit gardens wherever we travel. The Butterfly Garden was beautiful. Hard to catch them on the frame long enough to get a good picture. Plenty to see and lots more f photos to take. Although you can tell that the garden was hit and effected by the storms it still help plenty if its beauty. I can imagine what it’s going to look like in the next year or so. Thank you Ms. Marilyn.Written 11 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kimberley SMiami, FL1,254 contributionsA day pass to this park was one of the options on our Margaritaville cruise. 4 of us decided the dock morning to go quickly signed up with 30 minutes to spare and loaded unto a bus to get to the park. Easy 20+ minute ride. We paid for the food drink option and it was totally worth it. We really enjoyed the few hours off the ship. We swan, kayaker, used the swings, my brother jetski, we even booked 25 minutes massage on the beach. Took pics of baby pigs on paddle boards. The food provided was yummy and the Bahamas mamas refreshing. We really enjoyed ourselves.Written 6 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Barbara SClearwater, FL63 contributionsDuring the second day of our stay at Lighthouse Pointe, the bellhop arranged a cab for us. Our cab driver Kirk took is to
Bahamian Brewery, where we were greeted by the retail staff and paid $15.00 per person for the tour, beer tasting, and a full size draft beer at the end of the tasting. The brewery produces nine different beers. My favorite was the Sans and Sans Lite. Our tour guide Manissa was friendly and informative. Overall, we were there for about an hour and then onto our next stop.....Written 15 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Reef is looking very alive with hard corals and an abundance of tropical fish. Had one nurse shark swimming round us towards the end (they're harmless and uninterested in us), and then shortly afterwards found one resting on top of the reef (somewhat unusual as they like to sleep under overhangs/in caves). The resting nurse shark decided it didn't like snorkelers staring at it, and swam away - straight underneath me! I could have touched it if I wanted, but I left it alone - scary and exciting. It was not nesting season for the protected birds, so we didn't see the reason this is a protected area, but you probably don't go to Peterson Cay to see birds.Written 4 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Norma G-H99 contributionsThis is the site of the “straw market,” some shops and restaurants. On non-cruise days, there are fewer vendors. The range of restaurants was good—from local (Daddy Brown’s Conch Stand) to brick and mortar places such as Zorba’s (primarily though not exclusively Greek); Agave (Latin Fusion); Flying Fish and several others. The “ambience” of Rum Runner lounge may be more appealing to a younger crowd.Written 14 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MaggieMae324Magnolia, TX34 contributionsWe visited in 2017 and this was one of my favorite beaches. Since the hurricane, the landscape has changed, and although the beach is still beautiful, it seemed a lot more dirty than before. The area we parked in was littered with garbage, which is sad for such a gorgeous place. We did not stay for very long after seeing a man walking the beach in a long-sleeved sweatshirt and carrying an aluminum baseball bat. Although it is still a very pretty spot, there is an odd feeling about it. We will return on our next visit since the beaches are the prettiest I've ever seen.Written 22 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandy CUnited States48 contributionsWe came across Leo’s art gallery when we were walking around the Port Lucayan Market Place. Leo was super friendly and his art work is very eclectic. It probably took 15 minutes just going through the various prints he had for sale.Written 3 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - joe-chicago-23Chesterfield, MO1,345 contributionsI basically agree with all the prior reviews posted here. Calm waters, soft sand, some sandbars at low tide. Plenty of parking available. It's just calm and relaxing.Written 26 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jean4 contributionsWe stayed on Silver Point Beach for a week. The sand is soft, the waves are chill. Great spot to watch the sunrise or sunset. There is also a walking path along the road by the water. Lots of small eateries nearby too.Written 3 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
