- Mattie O7 contributionsWe had the best day on Jost Boat seeing the Bath's and hiking in the British Virgin Islands/ Virgin gorda, snorkeling at Norman island (great fish and jellyfish as well as corals to see and the island which inspired the book "treasure island.")
The crew of three (I only remember one name, Dan), was friendly and helpful throughout the day. If you are on the fence about this excursion, I felt it was well worth it and the most fun day we had on our trip. Book it! The crew and excursion was very kid friendly.
Tips: bring or wear a swimsuit with fast-drying layers. When you hike through the baths it isn't more than knee-deep. Bring a water bottle to take on the hike (they do have them available for purchase on site and do take credit card).
We saw plenty of elderly and infirm individuals not in our party attempting to make the trek with varying degrees of success. It is 1.5 miles round trip for the hike with lots of steep and slippery ascents and descents as well as narrow passages through and underneath rock formations where short and slender individuals will have an advantage. I agree with another user's tip that if your party is athletic/agile, try to politely get toward the front of the line hiking back out of the baths as there are many slippery, narrow paths and the less fit members of the group took extra time getting through which created a bottleneck effect. Everyone made it in time for lunch at the restaurant and the food was delicious, in particular the pulled pork. They did accommodate for food allergies without issue.
The hike and snorkel were great for kids, my 5 and 7 year olds snorkeled for the first time and there was plenty of kid size equipment including life vests on board. Our 3 year old had to be carried for parts of the baths hike to keep up with the group so plan accordingly if you have a baby or toddler. The painkiller drinks on the way back were delicious. Customs process was pretty painless and efficient coming back into the USVIs.
Another tip: the complimentary breakfast did not include any coffee so if you like to caffeinate in the AM make sure you do so prior to boarding or bring along with you.

- Matt W2 contributionsHad a great day with Captain Andrew! We did a half day tour out of St. Thomas. Took a taxi from our cruise ship to the other side of the island. Andrew was ready for us, we hopped on his boat as soon as we arrived and took off. We went directly over to St. John and spent our four hours snorkeling and cruising around the island. We spent some time on one of the beautiful beaches on St. John and had a delicious lunch at a floating pizza boat. Our group had some who wanted to be more active and some who wanted to lay in the sun, Andrew accommodated all of us. He was knowledgeable, friendly, fun and easy to be with. It was our favorite day of our trip! One thing to note, we were worried about a cab ride back to the cruise ship since it's on the other side of the island, but there was absolutely no problem getting one. Cabs circle constantly and the people at the shop where we met were also were happy to call us a cab. No need for concern about transportation if you are cruising. Dave, Mave and Grant went above and beyond to make our family and the other guest on the trip a memorable one. During the trip Mave and Grant shared interesting / amusing facts about the different islands and spots we stopped at. Capt. Dave anchored us at great spots while putting safety first while keeping it lite with a bit of humor. Truly a day our family especially my 10yr old step son will not soon forget as he’s already begging to book another charter. We stopped at some really great spots, beautiful beaches where we were able to snorkel and see cool sea life. We had a great lunch at Skinny legs. - Troy D20 contributions3 words… Meatball, Meatball, MEATBALL‼️ Todd, better known as “Meatball” was my tour guide for the Ocean Surfari Full Day Jeep Tour of St. Thomas. I should’ve known I was in for an amazing day just by his mere excitement when I called to confirm my tour the day prior.
I’m sure Ocean Surfari has other great tour guides, but no one can provide the level of excitement, enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion that Meatball provided me. I was truly able to see the love and passion he has for this island through his eyes. Within an hour I felt like I was just hanging out with a close friend touring a beautiful island.
The tour took us off beaten paths, winding through cities and neighborhoods, up scenic mountain roads, and down to secluded beaches that felt like secret Caribbean gems. The panoramic views from the mountain tops were absolutely breathtaking; pictures don’t do it justice. We could see deep blue and turquoise waters stretching for miles, with the many surrounding islands.
One of the highlights were stops at historical sites, where we learned about the rich history of the USVI. Meatball brought the stories to life, making the history of the island truly fascinating.
We also had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beach and go swimming and snorkeling.
What really stood out was how personalized the tour felt. Meatball tailored the experience to my interests and made sure I got the most out of every stop. Whether you’re into nature, history, or simply looking to see the best views on the island, this tour has it all; including entertainment, aka “Meatball”!
I had a lot of favorite moments, but my absolute best was having the pleasure of Meatball inviting me to his home for the best home made Louisiana Gumbo I EVER had! Mrs. Yvonne, I call her Mrs. Meatball, was so welcoming and the three of us sat at their kitchen island and ate Gumbo with buttered crackers 😋, and just talked and laughed. Beautiful spirited people. I have been officially adopted. Mr. & Mrs. Meatball are my adopted Virgin Island parents. I absolutely love and treasure them 💙🩵🤍.
If you want to explore St. Thomas or St. John like a local and see parts of the islands most visitors miss, this full day Jeep tour with Ocean Surfari is an absolute must‼️

- Dee Dee L1 contributionThe tour was awesome! Our family of 8 did the 4 hour, private-plan your own tour! We chose to go to Maho, Cinnamon and Trunk Bay. They picked us up at Cruz Bay and dropped us off at Mongoose Junction ( per our request for eating /shopping)!
The guide was great, talked to us along the drive, gave us a history and fun facts! We had water, drinks, and the open air taxi was the only way to go. Day started out raining with some slightly rough waters but the Juggerknot was able to accommodate us for those conditions and kept us very comfortable. Capt. Jug was very informative about the area. They made great suggestions of where to go for our time and what we wanted to do for the day. I managed to leave my phone in BVI at Willy T’s. which typically wouldn’t be that big of a problem but we were staying in St. John. So between Willy T’s and Captain Jug and Jill we were able to get my phone back after a couple days. Jug retrieved it and Jill brought it back to me! Thank you both so much for a fantastic day celebrating my 60th bday with family and friends!
