4.5 stars for us (read below for more). We had a great time with Shaq, who we met walking into Soufriere, and MJ who joined us for the full tour. We visited the mud baths (Shaq surprised us after that with some snacks!), a waterfall (which we would normally be allowed in but it rained so hard that day that they said we couldn't go in as it might be unsafe), some local villages and beaches and the botanical gardens. MJ was an amazing guide throughout, stopping at lots of different points to pick fruit or point out views or explain things he saw, making sure we were hydrated (beers, water, rum punch etc all included). We stopped at a local bar/hideaway too and tried various local rums as well as their locally made spiced drink (I won't ruin the name they call it ;) ), some local food (a local kind of fishcake, pea stuffed bread and some tamarind sweets) and topped it all off with lunch at a great local spot.
As we were in the area we had asked ahead of time if we could also do the Tet Paul trail, which Shaq said we could but we didn't agree a price for the addition ahead of time. The price quoted when we met Shaq was a bit high to include it (higher than doing it separately in addition to the main tour) but we were already underway so went for it anyway. I think this meant some other parts of the tour were maybe rushed? There was mention of cocoa tasting and coconuts too which didn't occur. This was the only negative of the whole day, and worth mentioning to future travellers. This aside, I would have given a 4.5 if I could as the whole time with these guys was really great fun, very informative and recommended.
