- NonRevFlyer2342Worcester, MA49 contributionsWe visited this site as part of a cruise ship excursion. I wish we had visited it as an independent visit so we could have stayed longer. Passing rain showers did not dampen the day as the foliage was so large that it offered protection at times. There are restrooms available, and there is a nice little shopping area in the garden. Here we purchased some local paintings on wood for $10 and $15. Also bought a volcanic stone necklace for $7 (all USD prices and credit cards accepted). No haggling and easy no pressure shopping. There were other items available as well.Written 27 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- magbeanFarnham, UK79 contributionsEasy walking. Many, many flower, shrub, and tree varieties. Several birds flitting around as well. Not a huge area.
We did have a guide, Alexander who was absolutey full of knowledge - so much so to be almost overpowering at times. But he did have a sense of humour as well. The Diamond Falls are at the far end which are another attraction. We gave the mineral baths a miss. All in all a very enjoyable visit.Written 12 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The impression is of few visitors each day. However situated just off the main road from the north of the island to the airport it is a superb stop for those ,driving south for evening flights.
The gardens are attractive with an informative guide for those wishing to know the name of everything. However the main interest is perhaps a walk in the forest up to the ruins of the old manor house.this constitutes a climb for which a stick ( provided) is heartily recommended. While there is not much left to be seen at the ruins there is British military history here of defensive action and death as the outpost was overrun by brigands.
With more visitors this attraction would benefit but unlikely to happen due to its position.
However well worth a visit if passing.Written 26 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The garden is peaceful. We had nice chats with "StoneMan" who builds the paths and walkways and the stone features. This is a real treasure near Soufriere. The garden is free. You can spend from 15 - 30 minutes here depending on your pace.Written 1 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
