We used Transekur on three occasions during our trip to the DR. They were excellent each time. For each trip, we were sent an email confirming our trip the day before. On the day of our trip, we were sent an email with the drivers name, picture, and description of the vehicle and plate number. We were picked up at the airport PUJ on time and as detailed in the email. The service was excellent, and our driver was very safe taking us to the resort. Halfway through our trip, we transferred across the island a 90-minute ride to our second resort. The driver Rogelio was outstanding. He was on time, drove very safely, and was able to find a good place for a quick bathroom break. Our third trip was also excellent, on time, and very safe. Maicol is another excellent driver and delivered us on time to the airport. Transekur is consistent, very clean, and has outstanding communication. We travel out of the country 4 to 5 times a year, and Transekur is one of the best transportation companies we have found. They are prompt on responding to emails, and they provide an in country phone number if needed. The drivers are safe, clean, and courteous. The vehicles are clean, in good repair, and comfortable.

Macao Beach is something of a hidden gem of Punta Cana beaches, being relatively untouched with clean sands, watersports opportunities, and an escape from the city crowds.

It’s a popular surfing spot and was listed by UNESCO as one of the Caribbean’s best beaches, mostly down to the clear waters and lovely white sand fringed by tall palm trees. waves are not as smooth as the main beaches of Bavaro, but it’s for those who desire a day at the beach free of crowds. also, sands particles- It’s huge, and not as fine as Bavaro's beaches.

It's also highly popular with surfers due to the great pipes that form here. It's a favorite among locals, and a nearby all-inclusive resort lets you be pampered between beach excursions. It is much quieter than Playa Bavaro, and it is worth visiting, especially if you want to try awesome freshly caught fish at affordable prices

Entrance: Google search for Restaurant El Fogón de Doña Mery, that’s your entrance.

Parking: some guy will stop you at the entrance, and he will guide you.
Parking Fee: As per guard wish ;) try 50 or 100 Pesos.

The waves are strong but once you pass the place where they break out you can just lie on top of the waves and let yourself go for hours.

Very nice tour that is ran in groups consistently as I stopped to utilize the restroom my group had moved on. The one stop tour will explain how to make cigars and then the natural stone that is blue turned into various jewelry items. The rum tasting was good as you go on the tour. The vanilla is what I went there for! The vanilla is so pure and real so I stock up on mamajuana and vanilla its great for your health. Cacao Tea was something I taste and it was not bad. The chocolate was so soft and fresh! This was a great tour!!

I read about this mall having a shuttle service when deciding on Punta Cana. Ironically my husband forgot his shoes at home so we needed to him a pair right away. Our hotel couldn’t provide any information, so they said. I found the phone number in a local travel info blog. That was the hardest thing about the process so I’ll put it here - +1 (829) 521-2388.
A quick text, a pick up in less than an hour and a new pair of leather shoes found.
By simply going into 3 shops our return trip, of basically equal distance as the airport, was free. This is a great savings.
While not a lot of shops or multilevel, we were able to kill a couple of hours. The ice cream stand had amazing varieties. Driver was very nice and the trip felt very safe.

This church is amazing. We own a condo in the area and go to Sunday mass. Very uplifting and the parish is so welcoming. Gospel in Spanish and English. A sanctuary to visit with The Lord!

amazing for picking up food / drink / cigars -- good selection and price is less than 50% than you would pay at a resort or even at the Don Lucas store for some things. There's a grocery store in the mall as well as a all-purpose store called 'JUMBO' nearby. The mall itself is nothing special, but such a better deal than any resort or duty free at airport. We paid 25 USD for a taxi, but made it back in the savings on bottles of rum, etc.

We had a short time here whilst on a snorkelling trip. The beach is beautiful white sand. The sealine however was rather murky due to the amount of seaweed which made it look dirty. Not sure if it was actually dirty however but was unappealing to swim in.

Downtown Punta Cana has a lot of places to visit: the mall that has many popular stores and restaurants. And next to that, there is the Ikea home store as well. Nice area with many great people too

We bought a bunch of souvenirs here. A little pricey but negotiatable. They will take American dollars but be mindful they won't have change

Absolutely wonderful experience, one that cannot be beaten by the hotel spas! Full hour relaxation massage for $35!! Fantastic therapists with excellent attention to detail and lovely setting, minutes walk from resorts up the beach. No pressure to book or cons, showing they do a better job than some other places along the beach. If you're in the area, a must book!

Booking a trip to the Dominican Republic for later March 2024.
I was looking for a cigar experience.
Well, I found much more selecting
    Vivaldi cigars.

    My Resortl Representative at the
Secrets Royal PC called Bert as per my request and booked an appointment
I was fortunate to meet creator/ coowner Bert along with his
Protege Aram for a great afternoon
    Cigar education and great conversation.

Bert picked me up at my Resort.
    Right away, I was comfortable.
He was full of energy, funny and radiated friendliness & enthusiasm.
Bert can speak several different languages and is a great communicator, He showed much appreciation for a good conversation with many good perspectives/questions.

We quickly arrived at Bert's cigar
Quarters where I was greeted by his friendly happy dog (Cocker spaniel)
And his protégé Aram.(son in law)
It was a very warm meeting of
    Welcome.
His entrance had several pictures of family and beloved pets all over the walls.
I shared that I just lost my dog of 14 years and right away being a dog person himself ...understood that grief
    having experienced the same himself.
Very consoling to my recent loss.

    Once within the humidor headquarters
    Bert assessed my cigar experience
and humbly engaged in teaching his craft. He described historical aspects of cigar development, construction.
And proper techniques( cutting, lighting and retrohaling)
    The discussion touched on cigar
industry myths and Brand names that have become mass produced with underwhelming productivity.

Several types, strengths and sizes filled the room within his hand made boxes.
    Bert designs the products ...packaging
And collaborates with his partner who takes care of crop production and development.

Anyone with a cigar interest would benefit by this unique and elitining experience .
    I recommend Bert's RIVALDI experience.

If you are in Punta Cana
A short visit 1-3 hr stop here
Is by FAR worth your while.

    Thank you Bert and Aram

    I will be back
    And will keep in touch.

    Harry.

My husband and I went, he’s a card player - I did slots and bingo. This is the smallest casino I’ve ever been in. Maybe there were 10 slot machines, but that’s pushing it.

I happened to arrive when bingo was starting (free to play) and it was terribly hard to understand what they were saying and when people would win, the number caller would make them do degrading dances, etc... rather humiliating. Prizes for bingo were $10, $15, $20, $50, $100 and you’d get cheesy hats and shirts too.

I wouldn’t ever return. I would rather go to Hard Rock Casino.
