It is Punta Cana’s main beach and is one of the largest and most popular beaches in the area. The town of Bavaro is lined with small shops and dotted with luxurious all-inclusive resorts. No trip to Punta Cana would be complete without some time spent on its gorgeous beaches. Playa Bávaro.

It is one of the most popular shorelines in Punta Cana, with its powdery sands, swaying palm trees, blue waters, and a bevy of amenities, including water sports rentals, dining options, and nearby accommodations.

there is so much confusion about where it starts/ends, and entrance to public beaches as 80% of beach areas are occupied by resorts. The beach stretches for 12 miles between Macao and Cabeza de Toro, but keep in mind that there are just four public access points at Corales, El Cortecito, Jellyfish, and Bibi Jagua.

Bavaro Beach has several subsections that all have their name. However, they are all connected and you can explore them walking consecutively. El Cortecito and Corales are two of these stretches and are very convenient

The clear waters off Bavaro Beach make it ideal for snorkeling, and many hotels on the strip include snorkeling equipment during your stay.

don’t imagine it to be a crowded beach. There is always something going on, people are enjoying their beach walks and locals are sitting in the sand, but as the beach is extremely long and wide, you always have more than enough space, and it NEVER feels crowded.

Beautiful reserve to learn about their foundation and the importance of conserving the land! We had a wonderful tour guide, Mo! He was so passionate in his work that it draws you into everything he says. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and great personality. He made sure we were both on track literally with time and on the paths (several people kept wondering off) to ensure we were learning and spent good amounts of time to see spend at the lagoons. Thank you Mo for your wonderful work! The lagoons are the cherry on top of the trip! Beautiful & worth the tour!!
*Bring cash to Tip your tour guides generously. Show your appreciation for their handwork and kindness. They remind us of teachers… patient, knowledgeable, giving everyone what they paid for BUT have to stop to ask those politely not to wondering off, don’t touch things they shouldn’t yet and deal with them asking for more time to play! (And these are the ones that don’t tip, smh)

My mother and I visited Dreams Macao Beach for her 60th birthday trip. The room was spacious, clean, and I we had a beautiful beach/pool view. Our favorite restaurant was Oceana. Very fresh tuna and amazing service from the wait staff. The staff made sure to make her feel special on her birthday and even brought out a cake to sing happy birthday. The entertainment staff, in particular Michael Jordan was very energetic and fun and made sure we had a fun time.

The best adventure park me and my kids have been to till date. We are from California and have been to almost all parks there and will rate this higher. Beautiful scenery and a view of the entire city from top. It was so much fun ziplining on a cliff, swimming in underground caves, jumping from water zip lines and riding in our splash hammocks! Do visit Hoyo Azul. There is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day. We reached there at 9 am and after signing waivers and other formalities were ready to do first ride in 10 minutes. We went there on a week day maybe that is reason for no rush. Water and other beverages come at $2 so don’t bother carrying too much . Enough to drink and eat that you will survive the day. Staff extremely friendly and nice . Contrary to what some other reviews indicated there is too much tipping pressure we don’t agree. It will not be a bad idea to carry cash and tip generously as staff is working so hard in such heat . Also locker facilities come very handy and they are big lockers and can take a lot of stuff . Best part they are free. Do carry regular shoes and swim shoes and keep interchanging based on the activity. Take tons of pictures and carry water proof case for phone . Also remember everything is available also in their store and is average price so no need to worry . Love the park and will do it again.

The beach is sand and next to the water. Many clouds for shade it is warm and fun.
A dog likes snacks on the sand. There are many waves in the water for you fun time.

We stayed in the VRBO property 221525, Cap Cana Beachfront Penthouse, One of a Kind Marina and Oceanfront Views. Host is Nicole. It was an amazing rental with spectacular views of the ocean and beach from our comfortable patio on one side and views of the marina from the other balcony. Great quiet, laidback location with all the amenities we needed. 3 bedroom, 3 bath, big upper loft with TV. We hired Claudia Cordones to cook and clean for two days. Her cooking was amazing - all fresh - all local - Mahi Mahi, Carribean chicken, breakfast for a king. You can watch the boats go out in the morning and return at sunset.
It is close to the airport, grocery, golf, snorkeling trips, and great places to eat. API restaurant at the beach is a daily go to for lunch and cocktails on the beach, Barbuda is 5 minutes away and fantastic food - loved all the appetizers, main meals of pasta and ribs! You can't go wrong. Nicole makes your stay easy and perfect. Highly recommend the area and her condo.

The waves are strong but once you pass the place where they break out you can just lie on top of the waves and let yourself go for hours.

we visited this beautiful cave from taking a buggie tour and it was well worth it. the picturesque cave is so beautiful. It had long lines with locals and visitors trying to get in the cave pool. I couldn't get to dive in cause my son did not want to dive so I couldn't leave him. but taking pictures and just being there was all worth it for us. Thank me later when you see this beautiful cave. enjoy

We had a short time here whilst on a snorkelling trip. The beach is beautiful white sand. The sealine however was rather murky due to the amount of seaweed which made it look dirty. Not sure if it was actually dirty however but was unappealing to swim in.

Been there in December 2020. It was raining in the morning so there was water everywhere, water shoes recommended. A lot of wasps so be careful. We saw the lake. Kayaks weren't available. My husband didn't like it, it seemed dangerous for him (because of insects). I think I could take lot of interesting pictures of wild life there but we decided not to go to far and we came back to our hotel which was in front of Laguna (Dreams Palm Beach).

We spent the month of February in Punta Cana. Rented a condo less than a 5 minute walk to the to this beach. The beach was clean and not overly crowded, with the exception of a Dominican holiday. Parking is free and the beach is easily accessible bus and Uber.
There are a couple of bars/restaurants on the beach. NOVA is the best! They have a covered patio and also have beach service. Their food is excellent .... truly restaurant quality. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. Excellent bartenders as well .... I definitely recommend a Margarita pitcher.
Their servers are very friendly and efficient. Ivan and Olga in particular get 5 stars from me.

Excellent place, beautiful beach with a nice restaurant where you can rent a tent as well. Only Spanish speeking personnel. The road to the beach is a challenge. It's reached best with an off road vehicle. However we've made it with a small rental car

We wanted to see something pristine and natural. This is not it. It's on private property, with a barb wire fence around it and a local person charging 300 pesos for admission. Probably a dozen or so people in the hoyo, which is not that clear anymore and looks like it is treated more like a local public pool. Lots of trash on the ground, people barbecuing and partying.

We love this place... first visited in 2022 and came back again (several times) this trip. We love the shopping (good quality items) and especially came for the massages. A fully body massage is only $35 USD! For the massage -- you're outside, listening to the waves crash & feeling the cool ocean breeze. It's heavenly!
