All the shops were close to each other - easy to check out chocolate, coffee, jewelry, cigars, rum and souvenirs. Lots of info and reasonable prices.

This experience could be improved by giving full disclosure of what the tour actually provides.
    * Communication with those who toured was totally absent.
*Had we known that almost 3 hours of our tour time would be spent waiting & waiting & waiting at convenience stores & gas stations on our way to & from Santo Domingo while all the drivers from other tours met up to discuss who knows what???? we would have NEVER scheduled this tour!!
*We were assured we would have an English speaking guide. Not True!
*We were so eager to see the Christopher Columbus Lighthouse! Did not happen & no explanation!
    * We wanted to see authentic Dominican arts & crafts along the Calle El Conde. That was skipped too. Instead we were taken to a typical, mostly made in China souvenir shop that had nothing unique or authentic!
*The stop at the Chocolate "Factory" & gift store was a positive.
*Seeing the 3 Eyes Notional Park was lovely.
*The Cathedral of the Americas was awe-inspiring!
*I'm sure we "saw" some other significant historical places coming to & returning from Santo Domingo but our driver & guide offered very little explanation. When they did speak their English was very difficult to understand.
*If we did not have the excessive wait times at convenience stores & gas stations we would have had the time to see all that we missed & even more in Santo Domingo!
*I highly recommend that all visitors to the Dominican Republic visit Santo Domingo but please use a reputable tour company !
*All 12 touring people in our crowded mini-van were extremely upset by how poorly this tour was organized & operated!
I would love to return someday and have a "real" tour!

Beware - There are no local artisan shops included in the tour. You do go to a market where souvenirs made in China are sold and a few paintings in the back area. It was worthy to note that you had a sticker added to your jacket when you got off the bus. We thought this was so that the tour company would get a % of sales. We bought - nothing.

The cigar demonstration was fine - two women demonstrated how the inner cigar is rolled and then later the outer layer applied. It was a shopping opportunity for cigar smokers. The adjacent chocolate shop was just a chance to buy locally made chocolate. While it looked like chocolates were made in the shop, not on the morning we were there.

There was a little river ride with not much to see on either side of the river. It went a couple of kilometres in one direction then turned around and returned to the starting point. Still, it was nice to get away from the resort for a couple of hours and see some of the countryside.

The trip to Casa de Campo and the amphitheatre would have been more interesting if the guide had taken any time to explain the significance of the location and of the school. He was glib and to entertain himself spent time humming and singing and occasionally shouting out a word or two. Yes, he could talk in English, Spanish, French and German but what he told us was so little that it seemed we could have had a sheet of paper with the information. We did look up the site on Google when we got back and found out all kinds of interesting things he could have told us.

Finally, the trip to the Jumbo in La Romana was interesting but it looked like a Target store or any place you buy household goods and food. Other than lunch, most of the people bought nothing here.

It was a disappointing "spree". Two cigars and a bag of cocoa.

We ended up there last year by accident, and it was horrible. First I am curios who wines it because everyone working there spoke Russian, especially when it cam to buying rum. My husband was try to buy some Rum and and a customer asked the lady in Russian if she wanted to help us first, her response in Russian was we just ignore them and they go away. We know it was Russian because we speak Ukraininan and they are very close
    IS IT RUSSIAN OWNED

Messaged shortly after booking and arranged pickup. Showed up early and had guide to help tour the market. Helpful vendors allowed for a lot of tastings, freebies. Good place to grab all your touristy magnets, shirts,
etc. Couldn't ask for more for the price.

Amazing experience and gorgeous photos! Really cool locations. Definitely worth the price. Montana Redona is absolutely gorgeous and the swing and the photo of that is absolutely priceless! And Limon beach is gorgeous as well! To be able to get photos at a completely empty beach again priceless. Irene takes beautiful pictures in breathtaking places you’ll love not only the way you look in them but also the incredible places she takes you! Plus given the price of most photo packages in Punta Cana the value of this is amazing and you get to have your own private tour!

I’ve been on many excursions all over the world and this one was the best by far. Mr. Osvaldo was the best tour guide showed and explained things thoroughly. The driver was outstanding and safe. Amazing experience, great food and excellent price. Worth the money

We had a great time on the cruise to Saona Island. While we did have our young boys with us it's probably a trip more suited for adults than kids, although our kids did have a lot of fun. The staff was super friendly and was always making sure you were enjoying yourself. If your main focus is snorkeling you probably want to look at other cruises, but if your main focus is having a good time with music, boats, and rum then I would highly recommend.

Don Alexander is a great guy. However, this excursion is nothing more than a $5 taxi ride to be sold to. It is not a cigar shop, but your typical Caribbean shop selling trinkets with an 8 foot sections of cigars that were actually made in the store, as well as fake Cuban cigars, but he is honest about them being fake. There is someone rolling cigars in the shop that you can watch, but I do not believe he speaks english. So you only get to watch him make them. Looking at the description of the tour now, I may have had expectations that were different than what they should have been.

Anyways, Don will give you a free cigar that the cigar roller made, which was actually very good. And then he will proceed to sell you some cigars. He started out trying to sell me 100 cigars, which would last me many many years. I did enjoy the stick he gave me, so I purchased 25 cigars from him for $7 per and we also bought some gifts for family back home.

I did smoke one cigar after I got home, and it was full strength. The rest will sit in my humidor for a while before I try another. If they are good, Don said we can order again over the phone and he will ship them to us, which I may end up doing.

Just know exactly what to expect when you go. We left the resort that was 30 minutes away at 9:30 and returned back to the hotel at 12. Our resort is far away so we were unable to get trinkets and gifts anywhere else, so this was well worth it to us. This is an extremely cheap tour, so if it’s worth it to you to go, then go for it!

We didn't get what was written in the description. It says you drive to a ranch where experts check your level of experience. What happened was we were dropped of at a gas station where some horses were standing. No one really talked to us or explained something about the tour. It was like here is your horse get up. No helmets or any words about how to handle the horse. Then we just started, no words about where we go or what will happen. We rode on a street were a lot of motorcycles were driving and the guide pushed my horse to go faster. No beautiful nature or anything that was written in the description. Then we came to the beach. My horse was actually afraid of water. At the beach there was not really a good way to go. A lot of trash and stones. So this was not the beautiful beach we had expected. In total it was disappointing and the horses were not in the condition as described.
