Bejilio picked us up right outside the cruise port on time, and we boarded his bus. We went on a 25-30 minute drive through the city and up to the Damajagua waterfall entrance. Booking this ticket was wonderful because Bejilio drove us up, got us fitted with life jackets and helmets, and we immediately got to join in to the waterfall activity without waiting in any lines like many other huge cruise groups had to do. Bejilio then stayed at the car area while we took our 2-hour waterfall adventure, which was awesome! About 30 minutes of hiking up but with enough rest stops to not exhaust yourself. A few awesome jumps and slides through the waterfalls, and then a nice easy walk back to the front, where Bejilio met us again and directed us to the buffet line for lunch. He sat with us and we got to talk to him, and he was very friendly and kind! After lunch, we changed to fresh clothes and then drove about 10-15 minutes to another stop, where a sweet group had us try hot cocoa, mango (amazing), guava, a cigar (and we got to practice rolling a cigar), and the native alcohol, mamajuana. All were fabulous! We then went inside to their little gift shop and found some goodies, mainly coffee grounds and a box of cigars. Bejilio then drove us another 10-15 minutes back to the cruise port. The entire experience was about 4.5-5 hours. We had a wonderful time and recommend highly! We got a selfie with Bejilio at the end. He was a wonderful guide and we just loved having someone drive us around and show us the ropes of the DR rather than a huge cruise excursion!
