It is not possible to over hype the Grand Canyon, majestic, timeless and breathtaking. I came here over 30 years ago and the view took my breath away then as it does now.

The park was clean, well maintained with nice and reasonably clean bathroom facilities throughout the south rim. There are also water refill stations spaced throughout. There are various shuttle buses throughout the day from sunrise to sunset. The staff is well informed and professional. The rim hike is easy, flat and the ground paved, so no hiking shoes necessary unless you are looking to hike down the canyon.

There are various restaurants and cafes but the quality of the food is poor everywhere, so bring your own food

Just returned from a 12 day road trip with 2nights at Maswik Lodge in Grand Canyon Village. Paid more than staying in Tusayan for the location but you need to get up early or late to appreciate the canyon in the peace and quiet as it’s unsurprisingly busy, especially when the train arrives! Most hotel accom is walkable to the rim or the free shuttle bus stops outside. One shuttle goes East the other West and runs all
day from dawn til dusk. You can hop on and hop off as you like. If you are not hiking into the canyon and just doing the South Rim 2 days is ample to get to all the lookouts. Good dinner choices sadly lacking. Bus drivers could do with being more informative.

One of the viewpoints located along the south rim of the canyon and dedicated to John Wesley Powell, whose expedition in 1869 was the first through the Grand Canyon.
There is a monument erected to Major Powell located at the point. As with all stops along the canyon this area affords spectacular views of the canyon.
This point can be accessed by walking, bicycle, or the free shuttle. The road is closed to private vehicular traffic.

first time making it to point sublime. Have a 2005 Lexus GX. All stock with a new set of BF Goodrich KO2 tires. Stock size. The forest road had a few rough spots but made it fine. a mile or two into it, I aired down my tires to about 20 psi which helped a lot. Met some others on the road who said this was the worst they ever saw the road. Got there around noon, and there was a 'trail approved' jeep grand cherokee. He said he took the alternate route because of the shape of the road but he found it beautiful. that said, the short route was beautiful as you go through open fields and aspen groves. fall colors.

We did not take the train, but did check out the depot and the train on display. Eventually, the train arrived and we took some pictures. It's a nice change of pace.

Ideal for the sunset. This is not as crowded as other view points but yet offers equal or even better view of the canyon especially during the sunset time. Ample parking spaces available. Recommended if you want to enjoy the sunset in more tranquil setup,

The cabins at the ranch were awesome. There were two separate rooms with queen beds and two baths. Unfortunately, most of the activities at the ranch were still shut down due to Covid 19. We still very much enjoyed ourselves. Played cards on the porch and watch an amazing moon rise. The only concern was the food options. There was only one place open to eat and we luckily got there in time to catch supper before it closed. This place was so cool that if we go back with will just take food and enjoy the cabin.
