The tour was very good and picked us up at our hotel. We then listened to our guide who explained the itinerary and a bit of history. Our first stop was Piriapolis which was charming. We went to the top of the Cero for a great view and photo opportunity. The tour takes you to the Casapueblo which is an amazing tribute to the famous artist - Carlos Paez Vilaro. It looks like Santorini on steroids.
We then went through the back streets of Punta del Este and our guide explained why it's the home of the "rich and famous."
We stopped near Play Brava and had some free time to photograph and get a snack.
It's a long tour but it's worth it.

Beautiful trip! Casa del Pueblo was the highlight. Nice river/ocean views, friendly guide. I visited off-season which meant also no crowds at the places of interest.

The guide was pleasant and the driver was v good and careful . We had a nice stop at Piriapolis a pretty resort town with a beach . Then we had a tour of Punta Del Este . After lunch we were brought to see La Mano ( The Hand ) the famous sculpture on the beach . After that it was on to Casapueblo which for us was the highlight. A long day but well worth it .

This was our second wine tour which we had taken with The Wine Experience. We just returned from taking the Gourmet Wine Experience in Punta del Este. Everything was planned so easily and efficiently with Ryan, after our initial contact through his website. We were actually staying in Montevideo, but Ryan suggested coming to Punta del Este for the day. We took the bus from Montevideo and Ryan met us at the bus station in Punta as planned.
The tour began visiting a boutique winery where we literally had the entire winery to ourselves. Ryan had arranged for an incredible wine tasting with meats and cheese to accompany the wines. The winery itself was truly beautiful but in a very rustic way. It almost felt like we were on a movie set. We just enjoyed the wines and the experience itself so very much! It’s very hard to explain what an incredible experience this was, we felt like VIPs.
If that part of the tour wasn’t spectacular enough, the best was yet to come. We left the winery and drove to Playa Vik, which is a beautiful resort right along the ocean. We had a gourmet lunch, family style overlooking the infinity pool in the near ground and the ocean just beyond that. Family style dining may not sound gourmet, but believe me, it was a fantastic absolutely gourmet dining experience. We were served a delicious appetizer along with a local white wine and then for our main course, we had platters of beef, fish, shrimp risotto, yams and more along with Vik’s world renowned red wine. Enjoying this meal with the beautiful scenery in front of us and in an exclusive resort, it’s as amazing as it sounds.
The day was so much more than we could every have imagined. Thank you Ryan for everything you did to make our day so memorable.
