- Gasthaus69Alexandria, VA75 contributionsLooking at Google Maps from the Airbnb villa we were renting in Fayence it looked like you could drive very close to the bridge and want (~10 minutes). In actuality it wasn't like that. The road was closed by a locked gate and you had to park on the side of a fairly narrow road and walk. There were three paths, the road (that was blocked), and two paths through the woods...one marked with yellow markers and the other with blue. We took the blue path and it was very long (~2.5 miles, ~4km) and steep. It honestly wasn't very well marked and a lot of the time there was no coverage (or just one bar of 3G) so Google Maps really didn't work. I would recommend downloading this area prior to getting here so you can use Google Maps off-line. There were a lot of flying, biting insects and the mosquito repellent we were wearing didn't work at all! Once at the stream and bridge the trials and tribulations of the journey were forgotten. There were some brave teenagers jumping off the top of the bridge into the stream and the small waterfall was beautiful. The stream is COLD and there is a current. The bridge is also very slippery so be careful. Several people fell and it is steep. My Teva sandals were slipping a lot and they are supposed to be good for traction on wet rocks. The walk back was harder, obviously, because it was all uphill and there were a LOT of complaints from our 9 and 7-year-old sons.
Bring a lot of water and snacks! We honestly didn't have enough. There seems to be several places to park that were closer to where we found so look around.Written 14 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Free entry, donation optional but it inspires to donate. The money is well spent. It's like an oriantal fairytale.Written 31 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- alan gardinerFarnborough, UK34 contributionsBeautiful old chapel, with a lovely walk through ancient streets to get there, if you are lucky you can go inside which will blow your mind with the artwork inside and beautiful décor. be careful walking around the outside, it appears the locals don't have anywhere else for their dogs to use the toilet and don't take it home.Written 16 August 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bart SBoutersem, Belgium7 contributionsAmazing experience! I did the discovery, with my 2 daughter of 9 and 11, one with some experience and one without, but everything went perfect. Great 2 hour tour to the lake! To do again some day ..Written 12 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marc SGloucester, UK112 contributionsPerched on the top of the hill in Montauroux, the Eglise St Barthelemy is a peaceful chapel of modest size, but packed with stunning paintings in each arch on either side of the aisle, and behind the alter.
Just behind the church is the central village square at the very top of the hill, commanding exceptional views across the valley to Callian. On the day of our visit a medieval reenactment was being staged, which all added to the period atmosphere.
The surrounding village is extremely picturesque, with stepped alleys snaking brought the closely packed buildings. A great place to mooch about and eat an ice cream!Written 24 August 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can't book activities online if it's only around 24 to 36hrs left in advance I think. Just because slots aren't listed it doesn't slots aren't available. Call them and book on the phone. I didn't need to pay to book and got 2 pedaloes with slides at our desired time (11am).
We were really pleasantly surprised. It's definitely a surfing / camp shack type vibe, but lots of seated areas and shade. Prices were really reasonable, including for the activities. The food and drinks were good quality. We loved the Aqua Park / obstacle course also, though unfortunately we clashed with a large school group and though we waited half an hour it seems they were getting a full hour so it was a little too busy really, but that was just bad luck.
Only 2 WCs / changing rooms, but they were reasonably clean all things considered.
Well done Eco-beach. We had a lot of fun!Written 21 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The giant nets are fun and then a manageable high ropes that entertained a 7/14 and 50 year old got 45 mins. Staff are super friendly and nice. The place is basic with a rough and ready refreshment option (not cafe) and don’t expect a big ‘go ape’ type of place but it makes a nice excursion. Not particularly cheap but the friendliness of the staff was worth it.Written 1 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
