What travellers are saying
- pieter jLummen, Belgium52 contributionsThis is one of the lesser known canyons. We started at the taverna. It was not always easy to find our way. Luckily a downloaded a gpx route.
The first half of the trip was marked with red and white ribbon. The second half of the road was a little more freestyle and rocky.
We walked 14 km until we were at the cost. A taxi picket us up and brought us to a hotel.
In our opinion is the route not fit for children.Written 12 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Evemidi4 contributionsIn April the sea temp was tolerable and we enjoyed it thoroughly! Swam and explored the rock pools almost everyday during our stay at Stella Island nearby. As you walk down theres a sandy area as well as a beautiful cliff pier where its exciting to see the waves crash into when the tide is high. Beautiful during sunsetWritten 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PaulineT72Edinburgh, UK6 contributionsJannis and Jutta are just wonderful hosts. Very attentive and hospitable. We probably expected something more in terms of music bar, but we were not left disappointed. Give it a go, you will enjoy. Lots of bars to choose from but we were welcomed here like family...and that means a great amount.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- IanRedfearn1966Barrowford, UK37 contributionsJust spent a great day with Alexander showing us some of the sights of Eastern Crete.
Knowledgable, friendly, informative and entertaining. All in comfort.
Many thanks!Written 10 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Evemidi4 contributionsWent in April, sea surprising felt fine to be in, comfortable temp. The staff are really helpful, kind and patient. You can tell they are experienced in what they do and want to make sure that you have a good time and are well prepared and safe!! They ensured our safety by being informative and recommended we not go on a specific day due to potential weather disturbances.
Went Jetskiing with my partner for 20minutes for a great price and just a perfect amount of time. They instructed us very well and given it was his first time driving it, he did amazingly and we had an absolute blast!! We fell into the water when we had to return but we were completely fine jumping back on with our lifejackets on. We had a relaxing canoe after too, which was lovely.
Would 100% go again when we return to Crete. Thank you Aris Water Team!Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Heather E3 contributionsAmazing experience to learn how to dive here. The water is clear and lots of fish to spot. I got my open water PADI here. Vagelis and his team took me out on different dives, taught me all the skills and got me through the theory. They made it a very relaxing and fun experience!
They were very sweet with others who experienced more stress in the waters and there is a lot of 1 on 1 attation which made me feel very safe.
I will definately come back when I visit crete again for another dive!Written 23 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Simona BalandiEmmen, Switzerland13 contributionsThat was our second stay in Crete and the first time we did the tour to Santorini with Analipsi tours and we loved all the organisation.
This year we booked the tour on jeep to Lassithi, sailing trip to Dia island and the nemo boat trip.
Both tours are perfectly organised. Our guide Nikos was friendly and informative. We were 6 in the jeep and the atmosphere was very nice. At the end of the day we felt like we had spent the day travelling with good friends.
The trip with Nemo was also great. We enjoyed jumping from the boat and snorkelling in the bay. The water is so clear and warm. The crew was lovely and welcoming and the transfer just on time.
Unfortunately our sailing trip was cancelled due to bad weather but we will definitely do it next time.
Would recommend to anyone.Written 17 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mariusz KZory, Poland39 contributionsWe visited the store a month ago. I went there many times during my previous stay in Crete in 2007, and I couldn't wait to go back to my favorite gift/antique shop in Crete. Real nice, helpful staff and tons of unusual items you can't find anywhere else (unlike so many other boring gift shops offering pretty much the same things). This time I bought a beautiful wooden box and a bottle of aged Tsikoudia coming from a family distillery in Hania, as the owner explained. Now the two souvenirs joined the collection of liquor boxes on my kitchen wall. Probably the best item on that wall!Written 8 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

We sat until the early hours drinking. His English was not so great so I ended up chatting with him in German. A very dociable host who insists on keeping his bar prices reasonable.
Thankyou Velos for a great evening - we’ll be back.Written 10 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - man1katParis, France1 contributionGreat and clever shop in the centre of Analipsi, Iraklion Crete. I visited it the previous summer. Can easily be a one stop shop for the quality of the traditional goods. Many of them with the possibility of explanation by testing/tasting them. I'm always a little skeptical when recommended (inexpensive) beauty products soaps and others… but were so good I came back to stock up! No staff, but the owner is very friendly and really seems to know many thinks about healthy life and nutrition. Has one of the best (prizewinning) Cretan oil, ask for it. Has the sign of the heart. I took three bottles of it. Many cheap solutions for my friends at home. The experience was wonderful. Had a really great time here and I learn a lot of new things about the nature products of Crete. I heartily recommend this store to all specially to them with medical problems.Written 27 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
