A brilliant surprise was the spectacular views of the industrial Tyneside docks, which provides a fascinating juxtaposition with the Dark Age surroundings.
In general, it is a great day out for anyone and the staff are very helpful and friendly too and also benefits from a lovely café on site which does a great selection of food and drinks at a reasonable price.

The views from the top of the castle were spectacular and we were VERY impressed with the commitment and generosity of castle volunteers who made the visit so special.
