Perhaps the most important site to see in Margao.
This magnificent Church is surrounded by some beautiful old Portuguese style houses, some in need of renovation, hopefully before they get declared unsuitable so that a nasty builder puts up the usual ugly concrete monstrosity.
Easter the best time - completely full.

I loved this market very much couldn’t venture much inside due to COVID. But I loved the chilli vendor who had Kashmiri chillies with him. Those chillies are fantastic. I missed out his address n number a very nice elderly Muslim man. If anyone can msg me his address or phone number it will be great full so that I can buy chiilies for me in Bangalore.

It has very nice antiques spread out on three floors. Everything from old typewriters to radios and other vintage instruments. The downside is that they dont allow photos to be taken.

Zalor Beach is a nice , clean , unspoiled beach. Less of tourists and more of nearby locals here which adds to the charm. It is not yet spoilt by commercialization. Better visit this peaceful haven soon before it goes the way of the other more popular Goan beaches. Don't expect too many shacks and other creature comforts here though.

A good 15 mins uphill drive from the main road + an additional 15 mins walk up stone stairs. Very nice Hindu temple on hill top.

The caged green lung in the heart of the City.
What are they afraid of? no-one is going to steal the plants.
Come on, open it up, let people walk through it, put in rubbish bins.
    Let the people enjoy it.

Nestled at the top of the hill is a chapel that is usually attracts a lot of newky wed couples for their photoshoots, if you're in Margao and need a secluded place to watch the sunset other than the beaches, head up to this place for a change. You can see the coastal belt and other prominent places in and around margao from the top.

Located in the centre of Margao on a small hillock opposite the walkway that dissects the Municipal gardens and the Agha KhanPark near Town Square. This church was once a military chapel and was known as Capela de Batalhao.

It's not bad but it is very outdated & customer unfriendly.
One needs to work the staff to get any kind of customer compliance/service.
But remember they do long hours & are paid very poorly & they probably don't even get to eat in the food court!
The grocery shop on the top floor is ok.

We came to know about these caves as we had gone to visit St Sebastian Church. When we went to the location, we realized that although it is a protected monument by the Govt of Goa, no other information as to the origin of the caves is available. One can just visit here only if one is deeply interested about mythology and local folklore.

Located in the centre of the city.Municipal offices, the market, bookshops, other eateries and the childrens park which is part of it.
Once you cross the road to it,it is an oasis of greenery which gets watered every morning which is the best time to sit and enjoy the quiet and the change from the hustle and bustle outside. It has a few scupltures of famous people inside and small nooks to sit in ,later on it does fill up with people.Divided by a walkway is a childrens park which is also very nice with a small pond and a walking track that gets families in the evenings relaxing.Perfect place to catch the lives of the locals and people watch.
