There is a lovely walled garden, lake with ducks, museum, children’s play area and Victorian bandstand and in the summer there is live music there better 3-5 on a Saturday and Sunday.
They have a lovely small museum which has been renovated so worth a look and they also have a nice cafe with a wide choice of snacks at cheap prices.

The ground floor museum was fascinating; the art works on the first floor were wonderful; and the third floor gave an insight to the history of the town and it's Norman motte and bailey castle.
We climbed to the top where you get a view of the surroundings and the Mound and then worked our way back down through the local history museum and the windmill history on the ground floor.
