- dianedinkyDunfermline, UK734 contributionsI never realised jungles could be so cold! Definitely use the offered blankets on the jeep drives or ensure you have very warm clothes for the early morning and afternoon low temperatures. I was still shivering even with the blankets - and I'm Scottish!
Anyways, this is a stunningly beautiful reserve that is an enjoyable drive in the scenery even if you spot no animals. We were lucky enough to see a tiger and 2 cubs plus jackals, birds and monkeys. I am very thankful to 'Go Bhraman' to make my trip memorable. They are the reliable and very caring tour operator company in India based in Kolkata. - BackInLondonLondon UK120 contributionsThis is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. We cycled from nearby Shergarh Tented Camp and sat in the shade being shown, with great patience and kindness, how to make beaded key rings, complete with dangling handmade wooden tigers.
Chai, boiled over a tiny outdoor stove, was served - miraculously blue and very delicious. The local women, our teachers, told us a little of their lives in villages deep in the forest near Kanha Tiger Reserve. The little museum is fascinating too.
Pashoopakshee is a great example of how locally led tourism projects can promote local traditions and a genuine cultural exchange while providing a vital (and liberating) livelihood to those it employs.
