I visited this place in Aug 22 with my wife and its a good place if you are a wildlife and scenery loving person. The forest is dense without mobile network. If you are planning to stay inside Parambikulam then you have some 4-5 choices to book online. I booked Thunakadavu Tree Top Hut accommodation for 2N/3D along with pug mark trail trekking and below is my experience.
    > The forest department people look for excuse to cancel trekking with excuses like there should be minimum of 10 people, rain, leech all other reasons.
    > Stay at for Thunakadavu Tree Top Hut was a nightmare as there are hundreds of rodents and rats which easily enter your hut. We had some biscuits in one of our bag and the rats despite keeping this bag in a stand, punctured the bag and ate all the biscuits. The rats move all around you making noise and some also climbed our bed at night. Remind you, you are alone in that hut without signal to call for help and also not advised to climb down the staircase due to elephant/wild animal movements during nights. During day, there are lot of monkeys which made sure we cannot enjoy the property sitting outside. The next day, I was successful to change from hut to Tented niche and slept well which i missed previous night.
    > Location of hut is excellent. Honeycomb is midst tribal settlement and Tented niche is near admin office so location wise Hut is very good and isolated.

This is some 30 min/7-8Km from Palakkad
    Frequent buses from town
Dam didnt have much water (50-60%) but is an awesome constuction and views
Extensive landscaped gardens, with fountains but seemed not in use. Lots of wera and tear visible.
Yakshi statue and ropeway are useful attractions
Outside is an aquarioum and snake park. Both worth visiting, esp for children.
All tickets are Rs 30-50 range. Ropeway is Rs 70.
We can spend 3-4 hours there.

We took trekking trail with parambikilum tiger reserve.. They have 3 different trekking trails. Elephant walk, bear path and pug mark. We opted bear path which was booked online.. The website says you have to pay for min.5 members if lack of guests as its a group trekking and its a 4 hour medium paced trail from 9-1pm.. We reached by 8.30 and waiting till 9.30 to get allocated a guide. We were the only people for bear path trekking and had to pay extra for the other 3 members. Its 300 per person..after insisting and continuous talks about delay, we were allowed to start our trekking at 9.40 am... We expected our guide to be more knowledgeable person, wearing professional gear with backpack and walking stick etc, but he came in very casual slippers and took us inside forest. There is no proper trail path or organized route. Inside the forest we saw fresh elephant foot mark, and suddenly our guide got panic, was not convinced of his own route and brought us out in less than 2 hours. By 11.30 we were out. When enquired about it, he was saying it takes only 2 hours, the website information of 4 hours includes for very slow trekkers😓😒. We really felt we were misguided because the reception office while allocating guide also was insiting yours is long trek for 4 hours. it should be that this guide just took the shortest route or he his not aware of trekking path. After went thru many professional trekking groups across India and world, it was an horrible experience. Though the walk inside forest was fresh, guide was not a professional trekker, looked more of a self trained local boy.
Both topslip and parambikulum to be avoided during weekends and public holidays. Their concept of safari drive is fill the bus with loads of people around 30-40 at a time, go around the forest and come back.

Kalpathy temple famous for its radhostalvam. The chariots are enclosed inside iron gates and one cannot view them if we do during other seasons. Ancient inscription about the temple history is available. Calm and good atmosphere when we visited it during evening

The temple timings are similar to Guruvayur temple. The temple opens early in the morning like 4 am or so and the rituals after that are so blissful, you will not like to take your eyes off the deity. The way the poojas and adorning the Lord is conducted, you will not want to leave place but just stay and pray peacefully. This is a place where you get very good peace of mind like Isha Yoga of Coimbatore. This is a place to worship whereas Isha is a place of meditation and calmness. But both these places provide you calmness, peace of mind and positive energy
The best time to visit this temple is early morning or late evening.

Oldest naturally grown teak tree in the world. Simply phenomenal giant tree. There are forest department mini buses through the parambikkulam reserve forest to reach here. A lot of monkey, deers and peacocks etc can be seen on the journey. The is kind of off road type. Finish everything before 6pm.

I loved this art work of 1969 by intellectual artist Kanai Kunjiraman Sir. It's a marvellous piece of art work made from a single rock sculpted magnificently which scores highest attraction of Malampuzha Fantasy Park.

I will definitely appreciate the Kerala Government for maintaining this park of attraction.

I also want to sincerely bring to the notice of concerned garden maintaining authority/Kerala Government to declare this park as totally plastic free. It's alarming to see thr unhygienic maintenance of this marvelous water body.
