My wife and I stayed at the RACV Resort in Cape Schanck for two nights and visited the Mornington Peninsula National Park for hiking for two consecutive days.

This is one of the best parts of Victoria due to its natural beauty with plenty of hiking trails and scenic views.

The Park is very well maintained and there are plenty of car parking bays during the off peak tourist season midweek.

I was a bit nervous about getting there on time, loading my car and the actual crossing, but from the moment I booked to driving off the ferry my experience was made all the more easier and enjoyable by the lovely staff.

I had originally wanted an 'open' ticket because I was unsure of timings, so I emailed with the question "what if I miss my allocated time?". The customer service rep almost immediately emailed back with the helpful answer (all good, we just pop you on the next departure).

Arriving at the terminal I was greeted again with helpful and pleasant staff, which was to be the recurring theme throughout the journey.

I doubt I will ever bother driving the long way round again. This was just so easy and pleasant, I even really enjoyed the glass of wine of the return.

    Thanks.

My wife and I visited this place recently during our recent annual holiday in Mornington Peninsula. This time around, we stayed at Peppers Moonah Links Resort (located near this place) for two nights.

Gunnamatta Beach offers the best surf breaks on the Mornington Peninsula. Rocks and reefs which are a permanent feature of this beach make it a popular spot for beach and rock fishing.

We arrived here at 8:30 am on a Tuesday morning when there were very few people around.

Our favourite beach to visit due to proximity of excellent playground next door. The beach itself is a pretty calm beach perfect for kids. Just either side of the pier is popular with families due to shallow water and calmness. You can buy ice cream and hot food at Sofias. Excellent food trucks nearby at Oliver’s Hill as well. Numerous undercover picnic tables as well

After visiting the maze around the corner we made a surprise stop at the eagle for a ride before we drove back to Melbourne. We had 4 kids in tow, who all had a ball even the little girl who is scared of heights! Fun for all

Family get together including our English cousins started out badly when the tour organiser forgot. We had to drive ourselves on the tour but to our delight, the tour company paid for each stop which included Polperro Winery for lunch. I'm not sure how much the "free" aspect played a part but we thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine, service and ambience. We were proud to have such a lovely place to show off to our guests from overseas. This was in late December 2019. I'm now booked in with a different group for New Year's Eve so review mark II in the New Year is coming.

A pre Christmas treat for our kids and their friends, we had an awesome time in all the mazes, fun on the slides and a picnic lunch. We will be coming back to do the high ropes course with just our kids!

My wife and I drove to the first car park, off Cape Schank Road, where we parked our car under the shade of a large tree and walked the 600 metres to Fingal Lookout, which is a separate walking track, to enjoy the scenic views from that higher vantage point.

After that, we drove our car to the second car park, 200 metres away and parked our car under the shade of a large tree at the Fingal Picnic area. We walked the 1.5 km track to Fingal beach which has shade from trees for most parts of the walk.

The views along the track and the views on the beach are very scenic. The climb up the steps for the return journey takes a bit of effort but is very good for exercise, especially with the fresh air.
