- Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India1,354 contributionsBaijnath temple complex is located on the bank of Gomati river. It is around 16 km from Kausani. It is an ancient temple complex and has been recognized as Monuments of National Importance by the Archaeological Survey of India. The complex has several small temples including famous Baijnath Mandir. It is one of the most important places to visit due to historical and religious significance, as according to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Ma Parvati were married at the confluence of River Gomati and Garur Ganga. The temples are constructed in stone. The main temple that houses a beautiful idol of Parvati is chiseled in black stone. The temple complex was nicely maintained.Written 22 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India1,354 contributionsVisited the temple in June’22. The way to the temple is through a forest trek with beautiful views of pine trees, small streams, birds call etc., it took around 45-50 minutes leisurely walk and with small breaks in between to reach the temple. However, the pathway has ups and downs, rocky surface, at places slippery and stairs, hence may be difficult for Sr. Citizen and Kids. The temple is small and well maintained, we offered prayer peacefully. During our visit, the adjacent waterfall had very small stream of water, spotted couple of people taking bath in the waterfalls. We hired a local guide @ Rs. 300, which was helpful during the trek. Couple of small shops that selling basic snacks and cold drinks are available at the starting point. Overall, it was a memorable visit to the temple.Written 22 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India1,354 contributionsLakshmi Ashram, also known as Sarla Ashram, is a Gandhian Basic Education centre for schoolgirls as well as center for practical training for rural community. The ashram is also the home of several orphan girls and women. The aim of the ashram is to give the rural women a safe place to live as well as teach them skills to lead an independent life.Written 22 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Renuka GargNew Delhi, India272 contributionsA conveniently located and well organised observatory. We booked the 1730 slot and were able to not only see the moonrise from the rooftop but also saw the planets Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus, apart from some constellations and star clusters. The host is very passionate, knowledgable and kind. Definitely worth a visit when at Kausani.Written 25 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India1,354 contributionsIt is the house of Sumitranandan Pant ji, converted into Gallery. It is situated amidst the marketplace. In the entry, a statue of Poet is installed. The Gallery exhibits parts of his life and work. The daily items used by the Poet is present in the museum, such as shawls, lamps, book cupboards and some citation, books, and handwriting dedicated to the poet, are preserved. The gallery also displays pictures of poet with other dignitaries. When we visited in June’22, the place was under renovation and hence haphazardly maintained. Wish after the renovation, there will be upscaling of the gallery. Overall a good place to visit.Written 22 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India1,354 contributionsOne of the stoppages at Kausani. It is a commercialized place with couple of stores selling winter wares, couple of shops selling tea, honey, juice etc. We also visited the shawl factory and could only see some machines. One may visit, if wish to buy winter wares, otherwise may avoid.Written 22 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandy_JSRJamshedpur, India1,354 contributionsThe tea estate is situated at a roadside, the approach passage to tea estate was bad and dirty. Not a big plantation, one has to climb uphill to explore the tea garden. Due to uphill walk and inconvenient pathways, visit may not be preferred for Sr. Citizens. There is some small shed within tea garden where one can rest in between the visit, also there exits small shop selling tea, maggi etc. One may go-ahead for a leisurely stroll in the tea garden and a view of surrounding from the top of the estate. Overall average experience.Written 22 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
