We had Dharma as our tour guide. He was nothing short of AMAZING!
He was extremely knowledgeable and knew all the right spots to take us to.
We did the gate of heaven route, followed by Tirta Gangga and ending with the incredible waterfall.
I will forewarn you that the hike back up from the waterfall will definitely not be easy for people with bad knees/hips as the steps are quite steep. But with a lot of pauses in between my mum still made it haha.
The highlights of the trip were most definitely the food for us. We love sightseeing but we love food more. Dharma took us to a local spot that served babi guling (suckling pig) for lunch, which is meant to be an iconic dish for the balinese. If you’re feeling adventurous I would highly recommend going to a local spot that Dharma suggest as the food was indescribably flavoursome. Pretty spicy but incredible. Definitely hit the spot for us. and for those worried, I am writing this the morning after and can confirm there was no bali belly experienced in our villa hahaha. Also a notable mention to the restaurant he took us to for dinner, we had an authentic nasi campur served with various ways of cooked chicken and as you might’ve guessed, this place also definitely hit the spot for us. Both of the food spots he took us to were very well priced, it cost us $9AUD for 3 people at lunch and $8AUD for mum and my dinner.
All in all this day trip was fantastic, and with the company of Dharma, I could not recommend it any higher.
He not only was a gracious guide for the day, he took some epic snaps of my mum and I at all the places we went.
I wish him all the best. Thank you Dharma for making our day out so fabulous!
