- Solodam JAmsterdam, The Netherlands34,768 contributionsCycling along the Amstel river is always nice thing to do. We visited Oudekerk aan de Amstel on saturday afternoon. Unfortunately the church was not open, not sure because of the pandemic or other reason. But the chapel was open and a lady told us that the chapel is always open for the public.Written 9 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Solodam JAmsterdam, The Netherlands34,768 contributionsThe Amstelkerk is a Protestant church in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. The church is located on the west side of Ouderkerk, on the river Amstel. Usually a protestant church is open only on sundays so we only took some pictures and cycled further. By the way, it was nice to sit for a while at the back side of the church on the bench along the riverWritten 9 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Solodam JAmsterdam, The Netherlands34,768 contributionsIt is normal that a protestant church not open if there is no service. Everytime I passed this church, never saw it was open. I was really curious to know about all the small windows, how would it look like when you're inside. Sometimes I stopped and sit on the bench at the green square behind the park. In the fall, you will see clearly how many windows on the church wall except the front side. Well, maybe I should come on sundaysWritten 5 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
