Here you’ll find a restaurant (food is pretty good 4/5), there’s a cold water river which is not that deep, but if you sit down you’ll enjoy it! And there’s also a beautiful beach. Be aware! It’s open sea so be careful, jump in if you know how to swim!

We went and spent the day there. We visited one of the food stands next to the river and were allowed to stay at one of their tables. We did all of the bathing in the river (The shortest in the world). The food and service were really good. Would definitely return.

We spent a lot of time in Los Patos. It’s a busy destination with lots of locals, and Dominican tourists. A great spot to hang with the locals and make some friends, albeit a little chaotic with all the kids. It’s had some local investment, so there’s a boardwalk lined with restaurants near the main watering hole, down toward the beach. Pick your spot and order up! All the restaurants had similar offerings and prices, the only difference we could tell were the types of fresh fish they had. Ask around if that’s a determining factor. The water is icy cool and refreshing in the spring-fed river, but we wouldn’t recommend swimming in the ocean - the current was strong. Great spot for a cheap bite to eat, cold beer and a refreshing swim. Note, if you’re a drinker, they have a locally fermented rum drink with roots and herbs. It was worth a shot if you’re feeling adventurous: it’s called Mari-Juana. No joke!

This is a unique ecosystem where a fresh water river pours from the mountains only a few hundred yards from the beach. Many places to eat and drink. Be careful of the sea which can be rough, yet beautiful. Most people stick to the river which has calm and relaxing pools as it pours into the sea.

This beach is like no other. It starts out as a small river of sweet water and connects to the beach. I was so amazed. The waves are huge. I had a great time.

This is a really nice place to relax in the fresh water (cold) or under an umbrella. The water is crystal clear and fresh as it is flowing from the mountains into the Caribbean sea. Water is below waist high which makes for a family friendly place. The area is serviced by various restaurants and is well taken care of. Its proximity to the beach, makes it ideal to go for a walk on the beach. Overall, we recommend this swimming hole to everyone.

the stones here are pretty rough so it is not really a beach per se. However it is still good for a walk

I spent a few time in Los Patos, considering that it is at 5 hours from Santo Domingo.... it fully deserves a day or more stays... the view is speechless... the lake water is however cold ... i prefer the beach where the water is gorgeous.... it is not full of tourists but locals... . It’s a busy destination with lots of locals.

Very nice beach and river. Not much tourist, most local tourist. The river is cold but very clean and nice.
The sea good temperature but the waves can be dangerous. Don’t go in to far or the sea will take you. Beach is nice and clean. And there is lifeguard.
Parking is free.
Everything nice clean.
Free restrooms and parking
Just don’t order cocktails, they will give you premixed crap. Food is good and affordable.
