If you're looking for a beach that's quiet but not totally secluded, Cupecoy is a good choice. Its white sands are backed by low sandstone cliffs that have been eroded in such a way that they provide a run of small semiprivate coves.

A delightful escapist beach

We went at around 9:30 am. It is not well marked so we ended up at La Samanna's gate and asked for directions. We drove back and parked right in front of Blue Mall and took the... read more

Cupecoy Beach is a relatively small stretch of beach, but it is a great spot to enjoy the sun in a quiet peaceful atmosphere. You do need to walk in from the parking lot, unless you want to pay the guy $5 to park closer to the beach. Either way, you do need to walk down the coral to access... More

We went at around 9:30 am. It is not well marked so we ended up at La Samanna's gate and asked for directions. We drove back and parked right in front of Blue Mall and took the pedestrian path to the beach. Again markings are sparse. We got to the top of a bluff overlooking the beach. It was deserted... For two weeks in January there were no beaches because of rough water. Been going there for 20 years, and at least there is one beach much of the time.

We love to watch the sunsets and sunrises around the world and will drive far and wide around an island to find the "perfect sunset". We arrived at Cupecoy Bay Beach around 4:30pm and parked near the Blue Mall, although we later saw that there was more parking closer to the beach. There are small paths that lead you to... More

This beach at one end is clothing optional so be aware that this is the case. It is worth the walk from Maho to see the beautiful cliffs and rock formations. The sand is fine and the water is calmer than at Maho beach.

Hardly a 10 minute walk from Maho this beach is accessible easily by cheap public transportation. Beautiful and not commercialized offers a spectacular view of sunsets. The adjacent golf course is a favorite for morning joggers. Flanked by casinos on either end the place offers plenty of evening entertainment as well as shopping around Maho. Rhine road has several eateries... More

We read a lot about Cupecoy, and it mostly lives up to the hype. The sandstone cliffs are gorgeous, and the view of the sunset is amazing. However bear in mind that as a natural beach with constantly shifting sands, you never know what Cupecoy will look like from day to day. The day we visited, there was very little... More

Stopped by last week with my wife and 3 grown kids. We had the East beach (down the steps to ourselves. It is stunning. The surf was rough and at times came all the way up to the cliffs. The sand was a little short; maybe it was high tide. My kids loved it. It was too rough for me.... More

I hope nobody reads this review because that would attract too many and spoil the experience, but... This beach is really the best on Sint Maarten. Although there are no facilities and the accessibility is not perfect, I would recommend it to anyone. The beach is on the south west part of the island and you always lie with your... More
