Had not known much about Sardar Sobha Singh till we visited this place. It was a new learning that the Guru Nanak Dev picture that we see anywhere in the world has been done by him. It was taken by SGPC on 500th birthday of Shri Guru Nanak Dev and that's how the world sees him today. His work on Soni Mahiwal, Guru Gobind Singh and many others is truly incredible. He has put life to each one of the paintings indeed. Must visit this place when in Palampur.

A heritage place to visit and also do not forget to purchase a copy of the paintings painted by Sh. Sobha Singh. This village is also known for pottery where you can see people working.

The Sobha Singh art gallery in Palampur can be easily approached through a scenic drive from Dharamshala. Some very beautiful paintings and sculpture are there for display. Its a small display but paintings are really beautiful. You can buy painting by some young artists at a good price.

1.Though the paintings are good, the place is ill-maintained.
2.No description on paintings and host was very horribly rude.
3.Entry fees was very high and they justified it by saying that the government was giving them no aid.
4.No public utility, no refreshments either in the premises or nearby. So carry snacks if travelling with kids.
5.So-called Souvenier Shop had nothing sensible to sell or even to look at!
6.Photography was not allowed.
