Hopped off a morning louage from Ain Draham, at Bulla junction and first car stopped <30secs, lifted me up with a cheery wand 3km along the way. The autumn stroll would have been dandy, but it was a warm touch to start the day. Thank you that kind man who will never read this review. Perfect time to have a... More

Bulla Regia is a little more than 2 hours from Tunis. I hired a driver and combined a tour here in March 2016 with a visit to Dougga, which is possible but makes for a very long day. Bulla Regia is known for its Roman villas. Like other Roman sites, the portion of the villas that were above ground are... More

We went here just after Easter 2015. There had been heavy rain so some rooms were closed, but it did not matter. The site is huge, takes 2 - 3 hours to tour, and a guide is essential. With a good guide, the place comes to life, you can imagine the roman men relaxing & feasting, the wealthy women platting... More

I had no idea Tunisia had such terrific Roman ruins. This is a good site for a day trip from Tunis, combined with Dougga, which is an absolute must see. We had the entire site to ourselves. Beautiful ruins, huge villas obviously owned by super wealthy Roman citizens, and very well preserved mosaics in place. We hired an excellent guide,... More

This is a site that is not frequently visited. If you have a car or are travelling by public transport this is a must. This ancient city from the Roman era is unique for its in situ mosaics. The villas were built with basements to provide cool in the summer. The mosaics are better than any you will see in... More

Beautiful ancient city with rare underground villas and great mosaic decorations. Other preserved and excavated buildings are theatre, basilica, lot of baths and part of forum.

We hired a guide from "tours by locals" for a day trip from Tunis to Dougga and "somewhere else". This was the somewhere else. A glorious baking hot day in July, made it totally understandable why the romans built living space underground. The drive from there to Dougga was wonderful, mile upon mile of rolling hills and over 1 small... More

These are fantastic ruins in an amazing part of and amazing country. The ruins are in remarkably good conditions, the theatre is beautiful and the underground ("troglodyte-esque") house is stunning. Many mosaics are still in situ, and a bit of water to brush the dust off makes for an amazing photo. strongly suggest you take a guidebook as there is... More

A little known site and could be better kept but worth seeing for the mosaics and villas alone. I was suprised at the condition of the mosacis especially at the House of the Hunt, where considering there is no protection from the elements with a drop of water the colours are vibrant and alive. The underground villas and the mosaics... More
