Okay, we didn't see a Jaguar but now you've stopped scrolling. Please don't ask too much from nature. It annoys me a little when people on here spent an hour crashing through the canopy in the mid afternoon and then get annoyed that it didn't...More

This review is about the tour provided by the Reserve-not about the merit of the Reserve. We arranged for a private tour through the Reserve's website. It is a beautiful and amazing place to visit and with the right guide you can see and learn...More

Six months ago today, my wife and I were very fortunate to spend several afternoon hours walking the well-constructed paths of the wondrous Santa Elena Reserve. We were guided by Everth, who was outstanding - friendly, skillful, and knowledgeable: he informed us regarding the ecosystems...More

Great place to walk into the forest, better if you visit it during the morning. It’s not necessary to take another Reserve, if you stay in Monteverde just for a day or two, doing just this one is perfect, the forest is the same.

It is beautiful - if your a nature junkie like me you can easily spend the day wandering. We did a guided tour which was great in learning about the area and different species. It was about $35 USD Otherwise you can do your own...More

This place was much quieter than the Montevede Cloud Forest, but was very enjoyable for a 2/3 hour trek. Some spectacular views can be seen, but the real enjoyment was walking amongst the cloud forest, birds and bugs. Trails are well marked and shorter trails...More

I loved spending time in the cloud forrest, and this reserve was one of the better spots for bird sightings (Ketzel!) and nature hikes. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and we had a very positive experience overall.

They have a bus that picks up from your hotel/hostel which is 2 USD round trip with a 16 dollar entry fee (9 dollars with student ID) without a guide. We arrived at 11:45 and left at 4 pm. We hiked two trails and had...More

This, even in the pouring rain for our entire hike, was a true rainforest experience and not to be missed.

This is a beautiful reserve. There are walks of varying lengths - we did all of them as we had the time, and the views are amazing. It isn't too busy and so you get to fully experience the cloud forests. Definitely recommend!

The two parks are very close to each other. Selvatura has the bridges walk which is well maintained and can be done without a guide. The Santa Elena is more primitive - which for me is a good thing. It was much more... More
