We really enjoyed this. As others have indicated, group sizes are small and guides communicate with each other so key sightings don't go unseen. We saw a sloth, 3 green pit vipers, 4 tarantulas, a large caterpillar, a scorpion, a "sleeping" hummingbird, howler monkeys, blue...More

Excellent guide who made sure we saw a variety of flora and fauna. Small group making taking pictures easier. Great to see a scorpion under ultra violet light. Amazed how quickly the time went.

This was a highlight of our stay in Monteverde. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, humorous, and shared a lot information about each animal we found. The group size was small (2 families) and each person was given the time needed to see the creatures found....More

We set of with guide Mauricio to find the species of the night in Monteverde. Knowing full well how difficult it can be in the African bush to find animals during the day and even worse at night, we didn't know how much we could...More

This was our second night tour and a second time that we had Olman Gonzalez as a guide. It was educational. We saw sleeping birds (Tinamou, orange bellied trogon, brown jays), scorpion, a sleeping sloth, several insects, a viper, a tarantula and a rain frog.

I recommend going with a guide, at least for your first trip. The refuge is huge, and the guides know where to look for a large variety of animals and birds. Guides carry spotting scopes to help you get a closer look and will take...More

This is an excellent and well run tour. We were collected from our accomodation and taken to the reserve. On arrival at the property we allocated to our tour group. Animals sighted on our tour included a sloth, snakes, tarantula, birds, insects.

Our guide was really nice, answered all the questions we had. We got separated in really small groups. We saw a lot of animals: birds, frogs, slot, spiders, snakes and a wild cat! I would recommend it if u stay in Monteverde!!
