Costa Rica has 100's of types of snakes and some are of the most venous variety. To see these snakes up close, to learn of their habits and hear from the guides of what can be done to be safe in the rain forest was very helpful. Loved seeing the snakes as well as the frogs.

It was a good way to kill a rainy hour in the afternoon. To make it worth the money ensure you go in the day, and return to see the nocturnal reptiles at night (using your same ticket stub). When we returned however, the building was closed, so we did not get to see the night time activities.

My wife and I loved this. The guide was informative and everyone was so very friendly. They have probably 25-30 different Costa Rican snakes (including all of the well-known venomous ones), several very cool frogs and toads, and turtles. It was $25 for two people with a guide and you can stay as long as you like and come back... More

Snakes, frogs, lizards, toads, oh my! I learned more than I wanted to at this place! The information is great, the guides are helpful, and the experience well worth it. I would say if you are not a snake person, this may not be the place for you,

Perfect little reptile/amphibian house. They give you flashlights to find the snakes and frogs in their cages which makes it fun and easier esp. For the frogs. Great signs to learn about the animals. They even have some species of turtles. Well worth it.

We didn't see any snakes in their natural habitat throughout our time in Costa Rica, probably not a bad thing ;) So glad we came here! Same price with or without a tour guide. Marc, our guide was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. We went at sunset so we were able to see the nocturnal creatures becoming active as well.... More

My husband and I came for an hour while it was raining and was quite enjoyable but I felt maybe a little expensive ($26 for both of us) as its a fairly small exhibition. That said it was pleasant and the ticket allows you back in after dark to witness the inhabitant's change in behaviour at night. We enjoyed the... More
