Next to a public beach which looks onto Le Morne Mountain and the sea where dolphins are sighted on boat trips. Experienced guides show visitors around this 19th century British fort. Come and discover why it was built, how the tower was equipped for soldiers to survive inside during a siege, and see where they ate and slept. Displays include a cannon, coins, military buttons, life size models of soldiers with their muskets and swords.Feel the weight of a real cannonball and see where the powder was kept. Have your camera handy for a photo of yourself dressed up as a soldier with a musket.

Thank you so much for your great rating, and useful information. That's our weekday price. On weekends it's Rs 80 for adults, still very good value, we think.

We visited the museum as part of a day package so had limited time there (which was something of a shame). The tower has been beautifully restored with painstaking accuracy, giving the visitor a feel of how it would been to have been stationed there....More

Good place to visit in Mauritius, since there is not too much of historical places, nearby small beach which is good.

The fort is unassuming from the outside but the tour guides really bring history back to life. Once inside the guides tell you all about the fort and it's pretty impressive. Walls that are 3 meters thick, a cistern, a gunpowder room and an original...More

We stopped at the Martello Tower museum on the way to Le Morne beach. Personal guided tour on the history and use of the tower made it so much more enjoyable. It’s a small place but definitely worth stopping off to see.
