At a gradual 2% climb, anyone can rid or walk this trail. Beautiful views around every corner and an added bonus of gliding down when you head back. Of course if you decide to go down first the trip back is an easy journey.

We have been to Penticton many times and I am not sure why we have never been on the KVR before! We went for a little walk with the kids and had a great time. They loved exploring and seeing the clay cliffs. We will be back with our bikes next summer to see more!

When traveling, it is often difficult to find a great place to walk dogs that is both scenic and safe. This trail is both. It isn't easy to find the access points as the signage is lacking. We had to ask someone local to find out where to park and get on the trail. On highway 97 south of Okanagan... More

We were a group of 8 using cabins along the way and a group of 2 camping. We loved the biking and amazing views along the way. Kudos to all who volunteer their time and energy. The enthusiasm to bike this route will only grow. We hope that there will be even more bed and breakfast type establishments to choose... More

This was a great tour. The volunteers work very hard to provide a family friendly experience. It would have been perfect had the banjo player played Crazy Train.

A great ride from Penticton towards Naramata and beyond. Since its an old rail corridor the grade is always reasonable. The further you go the more you need a bike with wider mountain bike tires as the trail gets a little rough and some sand patches. Some of the best views are in the first 15 km and as an... More

To celebrate a large milestone birthday, I decided to do the self-guided cycle tour from Midway to Penticton along the KVR. Paula did a great job of organizing accomodation, gear shuttles, detailed maps and day by day descriptions of what to expect and where. I have to say, the hardest part of the trip was keeping up with all the... More

Set off from the lakefront in Okanagan Falls and rode to downtown Penticton, about 22 km. The trail is well marked, and, as it is an old rail bed, has very little grade to it. That said, the scenery is very picturesque, and it is easy to look around as you ride with the wide, relatively flat trail surface. A... More

If you are driving, don't take your low rider up ! Gravel roads and a little rough in spots on the way up but what a beautiful drive. The views of the valley are amazing and you can imagine being on the train 100 years ago as you drive along the old rail bed experiencing a bit of South Okanagan... More

The drive up to the start of the KVRT was reasonably comfortable however there were parts of the road which were really washboard (hard bumpy ridges which rattled the passengers and vehicle somewhat). No big deal unless you're concerned about your vehicle. The only problem with this adventure was ME. I am very fearful of heights. I walked the trail... More
