We have visited twice, once in 2016 and then again this year. Last year, there were quite a few items that we would gladly ave purchased if we had been rather better off, however, this year we didn't see anything, and indeed there was a glut of tartan tat - who wants a tartan spongy rugby ball??? Anyway, I guess... More

Glad of the unplanned stop at this Scottish Shop Window type of stores(s) that offer a wide range of goods and catering. Had coffee and snacks at the restaurant; fairly pricey but good coffee and the snacks we had were tasty and well presented. Spent a tidy fortune (for us) on cashmere sweaters. Also managed to find a few other... More

When reading some previous reviews of House of Bruar it would be easy to assume that they only sell clothing here, but there is so much more. This is a large and ultra smart complex with a decided emphasis on "class". In addition to the aforementioned clothing which, in addition to the styles favoured by the wealthy country set, also... This came as a recommended stop by friends and family and they weren't wrong! We ended up spending 3 hours here including the Bruar Falls walk behind the building which is short (1 hour round trip) and stunning! We also had lunch and a general wonder amongst the complex and purchased quite a few items from the food shop! Make... More

Here you will find helpful and polite staff, who do make you feel valued. It is a very busy venue, which is always presented at its best. It always appears clean, bright and welcoming. Parking is well laid out. I cannot speak highly enough of the Food Halls with their enormous varieties of some of the very best Scottish fare... More

We stopped here for a bite to eat enroute to Edinburgh. Having been to the House of Bruar several times I do think it's getting more ludicrously expensive and more geared to ripping off tourists. The food in the restaurant is excellent but on the extreme for price and so busy with people barging past you for a seat. They... More

Popped in for a wee break from the A9 . All three of us had soup and a huge hunk of bread. £4.50 is a lot for a bowl of soup. But we were all full up afterwards. So maybe not so bad. It's good that there's a separate parking area for dog owners. But it's a shame it's left... More

Don't get me wrong, this place is 5*. The fact that it has car parking spaces for dog owners for a start! The only thing wrong is that most things are RRP which makes them incredibly expensive. In the day and age of the internet, you end up trying things on at Bruar then buying online sometimes significantly cheaper. We'll... More

It is remote... the only town nearby is Pitlochry... but well worth the drive. The food and drink shop are five star. The dining area tables don't do justice to the food that is available in the Restaurant...sticky plastic covers. Plenty of parking and the shops are spacious. We went on a rainy March day and spend 3 hours there.... More
