This road on the way to the Byodo-in has many tea merchants and unless you know which GREEN tea you want it will be a hit or miss. There is much activity on this street for it seems everyone that visits Uji uses it.

Tea shops and restaurants related to matcha are abundant here. We tried the matcha ice cream which tasted great. Bought some matcha to bake cakes too.

On of the nicest streets in Uji. Lots of people which added to the atmosphere. Lots of tea shops and cafe's with a mix of souvenir shops. Even if you are not interested in the shops it is a pleasant street just to stroll down.

Uji is famous for its matcha and this street leading to the Byodoin Temple is lined with many tea houses and shops selling everything matcha. We were spoilt for choices as we wanted to try and buy all the delicious looking goodies.

This street is full of shops selling tea and other souvenirs of Uji. There are also some cafes and restaurants. It's a fun place to browse, and tea and tea cannisters make great souvenirs.

A street with almost all uji matcha products of all brands there, a bit touristy but definitely a full collection of uji tea and matcha products! I personally prefer the small stores selling tea accessories like tea pot and cup! Japanese craftsmanship always amaze people!

Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi
