The house is in the upper part of the village - so if you leave your car at the parking place in the vally, you have a long walk to reach it... But it is a nice walk along old stone houses, some churches, restaurants,...More
You shouldn't miss visiting this place if you are anywhere nearthis town. Unfortunately informatios on English about Petrarca is really really bad translation from Italia -still you will learn and see more about life of Petrarca.
The casa is the original house used by Petrarca, and is wonderfully preserved. The exhibits are well done, with English translation, and the staff stands ready to respond to any questions. A definite must if in the area!
the house old more than 700 years is well preserved and perfectly maintained. Great monument of a great artist and humanist in a picturesque village in Colli Eugeneae, worth to be visited for every one
We arrive just before 12am and were told that this place closes at 12.30h till 15h. So we had a short but interesting visit at the former house of Francesco Petrarca. Interesting stories, beautiful frescos and lots of information. Worth to visit (with teenagers).
You enter via a lovely, small garden and enter the life of this poet. The information in several languages helps you understand his philosophy and life in his latter years.
Oh, and do not miss the "unusual" mummified cat!
