This is a most unusual place. It's a quiet and out of the way even by Mongolia/Govi standards. Rock formations like you've never seen. Known for numbers of cinereous vultures (also known sometimes as black or monk vultures) - can be 4 feet long with a wingspread up to 10 feet. Some believe this to be a sacred place and I have to say, it has a certain feel. It has an interesting history involving a rebellious monk. Friends and I visited here as part of a wonderful 3 week tour of central Mongolia with Mongolia Quest - this was my favorite place. The associated ger camp is simple and quiet, family run. The paths are delineated with rough amethysts from the local formations. It was my favorite camp of all we stayed at (some are way too posh and resort-y). A little off the beaten track and worth the trouble.

Here the nature is amazing. It is 20*30kmlong if I remember will. This 1700m above the sea and u can see many kind of mountains of rocks. This is protected nature reserve and in the evening I have seen some animals like fox, and especially mountain goat.. actually my guide told me there are so many animals that are in extinction...
