About
Since 1876, Damm’s master brewers take care of each elaboration step of our Mediterranean beer made by malt, rice and hops. During the visit to the brewery in el Prat del Llobregat (Barcelona) the elaboration process will be discovered underscoring the steps that make Estrella Damm an exceptional beer made by natural ingredients. The tour culminates tasting an Estrella and other Damm beers.

I read the reviews prior so I made sure to Google Map myself into oblivion to find the best way to get there and get back into Barcelona - it is about 30-40 minutes away from Barcelona, depending on traffic, it's in Prat de Llobregat which is another city by the airport. I was running late in the morning for my tour time of 10:30 and so I decided to grab a taxi instead of the bus, and from the Eixample district of Barcelona to the Damm factory it was 23 euros. The taxi driver didn't no where to drop me off, so he dropped me off closest to the freeway side of the building, where I ended up walking all the way around the entire place until I found the entrance. That's okay, I was at the factory already, I just had to find the entrance, and now that I know where it is I can tell you so it'll be easier. Do this: In Google Maps search: Carrer del Riu Anoia y Avinguda Onze de Setembre....when that comes up turn on the satellite view of the map so you can see the factory ---> the entrance for the tours is immediately across the street (north) from that intersection that you just typed in. The entrance is not where the orange pinpoint says "Brewery Damm" - yes that's still the brewery but that's the other side, which I ended up walking around. And before I tell you about the tour I'll tell you how to get back (or arrive if you don't take a taxi) - TAKE LINE 65 BARCELONA TMB BUS. It runs to and from the Placa de Espanya right there to the brewery at Prat de Llobregat. The bus stop is on both sides of the street (to go either way) right outside the brewery entrance where you'll be. This bus stops at all the stops through Prat de Llobregat so it takes a little time, but I enjoyed seeing another city on my way back to Barcelona. I was told by my taxi driver and my tour guide in the factory that El Prat where the bus runs through, isn't the best city...not dangerous, just maybe a little shady, so just stay on the bus and enjoy the sights. So............Barcelona TMB Bus Line 65 PUTS YOU OUT IN FRONT OF THE ENTRANCE FOR THE BREWERY TOUR, YOU PICK IT UP IN BARCELONA AT PLACA DE ESPANYA to get to the brewery, and you pick it up outside the brewery on the opposite side of the street to take it back to Placa de Espanya - and it is so easy. I was alone and I felt fine the entire time.
Now, the tour was GREAT! There were 3 people scheduled with my tour, but I was the only 1 that showed, so it was a private tour! You need to have your passport with you to show the guard and you'll have to sign in. My guide was Sira, who was a really nice young woman. There center you go into is extremely clean, open, spacious, really nice. You'll watch a video in a video room to get the whole lowdown on the beer-making process - it's a really great video, well-made. You'll then walk along a bridge over the factory where you look on either side through glass at the machines: they weren't running the day I was there, but that's okay, again, for 9 euros...who cares? Sira explained all the machines to me and what each did......and after we had looked at every thing we went in for the tasting. I got to sample 4 GREAT BEERS, and we went through color, aroma, taste....it was really fun. There were chips and mini sausages on the table for me - and I also asked for some water which Sira was happy to give me (Estrella Damm also produces a water so I got their bottled water). I love the Damm beers so it was an absolute win for me to see exactly where the beer I drink is made. If you have a little time to kill while in Barcelona - this really is a fun use of your time. You cannot take pictures inside the factory, but you can take all the pictures you want in the tasting room and outside the fence of the factory.

Great value and well worth the trip out (only 30mins on the underground to Parc nou and a 10minute walk)
Me and my girlfriend were lucky enough to be the only two on our English tour, the guide suggested most groups are much larger.
We've done a tour of a small brewery before so it was very interesting to see production on such a massive scale and try the 4 beers, 3 of which we'd never come across in the UK.
The Beer and snacks provided were probably worth the ticket cost alone.

What a fantastic guided tour by a well informed Catalonian who was proud to be from Barcelona and proud to be a member of the Estrella team. For a few Euro’s we had a brilliant tour finishing up with a sampling session which seem to just go on forever !

Firstly, bad transport links and a website which made it hard to find the actual address of the entry point for visitors, no map etc. Going from the metro they recommend (Parc Nou) wasn’t an easy route as there were no signs on the way to Estrella, or even any signs on the fencing surrounding the factory (there are miles of the stuff but no signage pointing us in the right direction). It’s only a 15 min walk from the metro stop they recommend if you know where you are going. We ended up walking around the outskirts of the whole Estrella site trying to find an entrance/staff who knew anything about the tours.
Secondly, once we got onsite (which was like trying to break out of an escape room) we were greeted by an English speaking tour guide. The lady was very friendly, but didn’t seem to know the English words for some of the words associated with the beer production process, so was hard to follow at times. We were taken into the production plant and greeted by the smell of bleach. The tour commenced, walking over the footbridge and looking down over the areas where bottling and canning apparently happen, and where the drinks are apparently arranged onto pallets, but nothing was happening. During the 5 minutes we were given to look at the stationary machines I asked the tour leader if any bottling or canning would happen whilst we were watching. She then informed the group that the whole brewery was closed down for this one week of the year, and that no production happened, they spent the week checking that all of the production line was working ok, just running the machines with nothing on them and cleaning them. Just something that might have been worth mentioning on the website when we chose the date to book? The member of our party who lives in Barcelona certainly wouldn’t have opted for this week to visit had he known!
After we’d looked at the machines being cleaned, we were taken into the tasting room. We were talked through 4 beers by our guide, and provided with some snacks. (Weirdly high calibre of snacks compared to the rest of the experience.) the emphasis was on analysing rather than drinking the beers. After the tasting our guide left the room and said that we were welcome to finish the beers and quality snacks in our own time. We enjoyed this, it was nice to get to know the other visitors, comparing notes on how hard it was to find a visitor entrance, and how disappointing it was that the brewery wasn’t actually functional this week. After no more than 10 minutes, someone came into the tasting room and said “it’s time to go now”. No one had finished their beers, the snacks had barely been touched. But that was it. We were given no time at all to drink up. Extremely disappointing for myself and members of my party who had saved our favourite beer until last. We almost thought he was joking. None of us could understand why our exit needed to be so urgent, particularly as there were no more tours today, and our host had welcomed us around 10 minutes earlier to enjoy our drinks in our own time.
Overall the visit was a huge waste of time and money. We saw and tasted very little. The website states that the experience lasts for 90 minutes. I can only assume that they have factored in the time required to lap the factory and find an entrance. The tour of the factory took approx 5 minutes. The tasting was 15 minutes. Then we were given around 10 short minutes to drink 4 beers between every 2 people. I was hoping to learn something about Estrella/ beer production - I learnt nothing. Could not recommend less.

So me and my partner turned up 30 minutes late! After our tour was about to start 10:30. However, after waiting about a little bit and speaking to the security guard and our guide, we ended up getting a private tour just the 2 of us. She said usually there are groups of maybe 12 at a time. However they found a solution for us even though we were late. The tour guide was really nice and she gave us very factual information about the production of the beer there! The beer tasting was fun and would highly recommend this tour

Such a great thing to do and a bargain to boot. We had a lovely tour guide, watched a video then tour of the factory (although it’s a shame the machines weren’t in action at the time) followed by tasting of 4 beers with nibbles.

Following the review on here posted previously, I needed to make sure that I knew where we were going. Tip 1 - is to research the location before you make the trip. Tip 2 - the entrance to the tour is what looks like a delivery gate. Tip 3 - bring photographic proof of identity. Once these 3 things are sorted you are set for a fascinating tour of the bottling/ canning area. It’s great watching the way all this machinery and robotics work together on the production line.
Our tour guide Celia was very well informed and this made for a good experience.
Following the tour of the canning and bottling area we had a tasting and comparison session. We didn’t feel hurried and enjoyed the snacks on offer as well.
Overall an enjoyable experience, just make sure that you know where you are going.

This tour is one and a half hours. Five euro cheaper than Central historic brewery. Clean, super modern and a knowledgeable friendly guide. The scale and precision is impressive. From the forty beers that they brew, you have five selected styles to taste at the end, well worth the effort to book.

The tour was really good and one of the best brewery tours I have ever been on. An expert takes you on the tour and you can see the factory in action. As there is an expert there, you can ask any questions you may have. Only negative which was our own fault, was that we chose to do the tour on a Spanish bank holiday so the factory wasn’t in action!
The beer tasting experience is definitely the best one I’ve ever had. The expert gives information about every beer before you taste it and there is an interactive sheet to fill in the flavours of the beer. All beers on the tasting experience are unique which I thought was fantastic.
The expert tour guide on the day was fantastic - a young woman who unfortunately had to work on the bank holiday! That didn’t dampen her spirits though, she was very enthusiastic and was clearly very proud to be a part of this fantastic brewery.
I would recommend this experience to everyone. It’s a little out of town - towards the airport, but it’s well worth the travelling. Can be accessed by a bus or the metro and then a short walk.

what is the exact address to give to the cab driver where the entrance is located for the tours ??
Written 12 October 2018
Hi Gary S., my cab driver (I took a cab from Barcelona) did not know where the brewery was, and he was from Barcelona - There is an Estrella Damm IN Barcelona, that's now ONLY the admin headquarters and a venue - my cab driver thought we were going there - No, the brewery and tour is in Prat de Llobregat - a neighboring town. See my long review if you want to see the place on the map - but I would give the cab driver this address: Av. Onze de Setembre, 26, 08820 El Prat de Llobregat, because this is the address of the police department (Mosso D'Esquadra) located directly across the street from the tour entrance at the brewery. Christopher P ^ is correct, along the bus route is where the entrance is. Have fun!
