small museum with some lovely old frescoes and artwork, worth a visit. On top of the hill by the piazza. Not frequented by too many tourists, so it is a lovely quiet town to be in and feel part of the local community especially when you stay in an airbnb for 2 weeks on an art workshop with renown Australian... Stayed in Lucignano which is a great town. We visited the museum and the lady at the reception was very welcoming and helpful. The museum is very small (only 3 rooms) but the golden tree was amazing, standing over 2,5m. What i found even more impressive was the fresco's in the room. Not much time is needed to visited the... WE paid a rather expensive entrance fee to see the local museum expecting ,for the price , to find something rather more special .. its true the alberodoro is a fantastic piece and is worth seeing as are the frescoes on the ceiling but the rest of the items are not inspiring and lack enough information to make them interesting... What a wonderful surprise to "discover" Lucignano, a beautifully preserved and walled-in town in the middle of "nowhere" or at least out of the way, between Arezzo and Siena. We felt like we had stumbled onto a treasure.....and the Municipal Museum of Lucignano houses exactly that - a treasure in the form of "The Tree of Life" situated in the... More

The town of Lucignano is very pleasant, easy enough to find parking, and a very picturesque mountain top town, with several restaurants. The museum itself was very small, so €5 entrance seemed a bit much. The main attraction in the four rooms being the "tree of life", a six foot gold statue which took 120 years to create.

This town is one of my Tuscan favorites. Stayed there for 5 days and we wish we could of stayed 5 months. From the first day we arrived the locals made us feel like we lived there all along. Welcoming and friendly. Not to many tourists in Sept and beautiful weather. Lots to see and do in the area or... More

Very few tourists in the village (we were there on a sunny day in August), a wonderful discovery! Lots of good restaurants. A must see of you are in the Arezzo/ Cortona/ Val di Chiana area
