A quiet area a few kilometers north of Portsmouth. We were staying in an airbnb five minutes walk from the beach and very handy for the 'keepin it real' restaurant which was very good. There are also a number of local bars. The place does not get busy and the sunsets are great.

Toucari Bay is a lovely quiet little bay in northern Dominica. "Keeping it Real "is THE restaurant on the beach. We were staying in the area so gave Dereck a heads up that we planned to eat dinner there that evening. The food was delicious 3 had fish and 1 had lobster -- it was all great. There were other local foods and everything was good. I enjoyed the warm biscuit served with the meal. After dinner we were treated to fresh brownies and a cup of cocoa tea ( the best yet). If you are near Portsmouth head on to Toucari Bay and check out "Keeping it Real". You won't be disappointed.

Good food and great service! The last time I went was on a busy night but the owner made sure that we were served and taken care of.

Love to SUP? Love fresh fish and lobster on the beach? Then visit Keepin' It Real in Toucari Bay! The environment is gorgeous, the inflatable SUPs and paddles are in great condition, and the food is out of this world. It's an experience not to be missed!

This restaurant may not be impressive, however don't be fooled by it's rustic appearance. Set along the calm and picturesque Toucari beach, Keepin it Real is hands-down the best place you can eat out on the island of Dominica.

Derrick the owner, prepares fresh fish and fresh lobster (caught that day) alongside traditional salads and sides, which will have you coming back for more time and time again. The fish and lobster is really world class, fresh and flavoursome these meals we had here were some of the best I have ever eaten.

This is the only restaurant I would recommend on the island. If you're in Dominica, this place is not be be missed!

We drove to Toucari to snorkel and found out you can go around the point (by boat) and snorkel or dive to a sunken ship. That would have been uber cool but we weren't in the know! Regardless, we snorkeled and bobbed in the water while drinking local rum and walked the tiny street. Beautiful little bay, very calm for beginner snorkelers. Food available at a few restaurants. Saw a monster sting-ray.
