Place is welcome break on the way to Tawang. We visited Nuranang (Jang) fall in the month of March. Waterfall was not flowing as normally shown popular photos. However, it is falling from good height, giving it a beautiful view.
Site is surely enjoyable, there is a river nearby. some of the water is also diverted to hydropower plant near waterfall.
Parking facility is very less and nothing else, no store or nothing at the site, except a small vendor.

These falls descend from a great height. Make sure to make the full way down the stairs until you come face to face with the falls to admire its true beauty. The roads leading to the parking area were quite bumpy for a long distance but the falls more than made up for the discomfort.

A marvel of nature, it's simply breath taking. You can see the rainbow form between 2.30pm to 3.00pm. If you are lucky can see double rainbow as well. A must visit place. Be in comfortable shoes as the approach way is not very smooth.

Mini Niagara of India. It descends from very high height & has two landings. Great experience to hear the sound of falling water. You can see Hydro-electric statin near by of 6 MW. Must visit. It is on the way from Dirang to Tawang

Best and Majestic waterfall of Arunachal Pradesh, a must visit waterfall. But sad state of affairs litter all around dumped by tourist and no one dare to clean the spot not even administration. However I saw tourist from Assam cleaning the place of Garbage. Request all tourist to kindly carry back with you the litter you generated. Clean India.

Words fail you to express and describe this fabulous, beautiful place where nature simply overwhelms you and just, in the words of Wordsworth, you stand and stare and wish that you can continue being there, under the mist of water which keeps on falling on you.
On way from Bomdila to Tawang, Nuranang Falls, also called Jung Falls, is 42 kilometer short of Tawang. Slightly off the main road, the moment you see it, you get mesmerized. When you climb down to the river side and comes directly under the falling water which overwhelm you in the shape of cloud, water constantly falling on you as if through rains, it simply captivates you. One wished that one goes on seeing the magical fall and just be under it. But then you realize that you have to move on, if you have to reach Tawang and sadly you leave, against your internal feelings. You leave with a sad heart but feeling lucky that one could experience the beauty of the place.
It is an excellent place for nature lovers.It is also the place where film Koyla was partly shot many years ago and Madhuri Dixit danced under this waterfall.

Nuranang Falls, about 100 metres high, is located in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Situated at a height of 6000 ft above sea level, it is one of the most spectacular waterfalls I have seen in India. Due to its relative anonymity, few travellers know about it. The waterfall is located about 40 km from Tawang town. It lies some 2 kilometres away from the town of Jang on the road connecting Tawang and Bomdi-la, so it is also known as the Jang Falls.
The Nuranang river originates from the Northern slopes of the Sela Pass. It forms the waterfall before plunging into the Tawang Chu (Tawang river).
The waterfall was visible from afar on our journey from Bomdi – la to Tawang. A small detour of about 1 km from the main road took us to the proximity of the falls. What a sight it was! The spectacle of huge volumes of milky white water hurtling down into the river below throwing up sprays upto several ft high provides an exhilarating experience. There is a small hydel plant located near the base that generates electricity for local use. You can trek down to the base of the falls and visit the plant.
It is said that this is the waterfall that features in the song ‘Tanhai Tanhai’ from 1997 Sharukh – Madhuri film ‘Koyla’.
Jang falls is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered in one of the lesser known and remotest parts of the country.

This fall comes around 30 kms before Tawang and the viewing point is only 200 m from the main road. This fall is also called Jang falls ( as it is only 5-6 kms after village Jang towards Tawang). The waterfall is spectacular and around 100 m in height. There was still a good amount flowing in the waterfall though we had visited in Feb. Hardly few people visit this falls and you would have to look out for the board pointing towards the fall and Forest Eco Guest House else you will miss the road to the viewpoint. There is a Micro hydel power plant near the base of the fall from where you can go down and reach the base of the falls. Worth a stopover in the Bomdila- Tawang route. There is also an eco-guest house but it was closed at the time we had visited.

Also known as JANG fall, this is one of the most spectacular falls in India. Falling from a height of around 100 metres, the sound of this fall can be heard from a long distance. Beautiful Kameng river flowing near this fall makes a picture perfect view. Must go to the base of the fall and enjoy...Drivers may try to skip this spot as it is away from Tawang. TIPS : Visit this spot while coming back from Tawang.

As you climb down to the Waterfall,you can hear the Roar.About 100 Meters tall,this sight is indeed spectacular.Water is Milky White ,clean & fresh.Water originates from the Sela Pass area and ends in Tawang River.There is also a 6 Meagwatt Power station,worth visiting,which generates Electricity for the nearby villages.
There is also small Hotel Lobsang, at Jung near the Water Falls, run by Jitu.Great place for Breakfast, and Lunch,Indian style.See pictures.

I am planning to visit
Shillong,Guwahati,Tawang,Bomdilla and other nearby interesting places of the neighbouring States of NE. Total duration nine nights. Age group 65-70. Strength 18-20. Time: April/May 2020. Please advise.

Tawang can be tedious for old people. It's 2 days uphill and 2 days downhill but not much walking. I came to know from locals that March is best month as snow is settled from winter snowfall and its looks beautiful. Shillong and chirapunjee is easily accessible but to see most of the attraction need to do a some walking like Arwah caves, elephant falls, Umiam lake and living root bridge.
