Bomdila monastery is located in a beautiful location with great views. This is very colourful and peaceful. Not a big Monastery by size but spiritually peaceful.

The monastry may be a spiritual center but this one is not really an architectural wonder or on the top of a peak or in the middle of a valley.

Must visit place in Bomdila, most beautiful and peaceful Monastery. Monastery also has guest house, so try to stay there and feel the atmosphere. Mostly the guest house is booked in advance, so its better to track 2 months before travel.
You can find monks of all ages playing and studying inside the premise. They have rooms for the stay of the monks.
During our visit, no tourist was there so we had a great time exploring entire Monastery. We visited the Monastery on the way to Dirang and spent around an hour photographing and exploring the entire place.

Very peacefull monestry top of the bomdila town ....i love the valley from monestry court yard .It was built by the 12th reincarnate of Tsong Gontse Rinpoche. This monastery belongs to Mahayana Buddhism. It is also known as the Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling monastery. It is a replica of the Tsona Gontse monastery at Tsona in Tibet.

Located on elevated area, fantastic view of valley below is a sacred place, also known as Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling Monastery, pristine surroundings, vibrant colours and a sacred prayer hall, as this is a place of worship one should follow the decency and appropriate behaviour. Shoes are not allowed inside the prayer hall, not to be missed by any traveller, as this Monastery is in Arunachal Pradesh, an Inner Line Permit is required even for Indian citizens.

Entry was restricted due to covid19, on our special request we were permitted to enter. Major portion of Monastery was closed for renovation. Situated in the town itself you don't need much time to travel.

I was blessed to have had the opportunity to celebrate my most auspicious day of birth amongst the chanting of lamas in their prayer hall under the Buddha’s glorious blessed feet. The Monastery celebrates it’s annual Mask Dance festival, and the colour of demons with dramatic musical background score – is once in a lifetime experience, not to be missed.
