There is a steep set of stairs to the top. One can take special permission and there is a small road for cars too. Once there, the manastambh with yaksha greets you. Entrance is free but you may give a donation and get a receipt....More

40-45 km away from Udupi, if you're travelling by car you can reach to the Gomteshwara without walking much, also if you visit karkala visit St. Lawrence Church, Mini Basilica

This place is very near from karkala bus station. You need to climb stairs to go to the top. But the hike is not very steep. One can easily climb.

Located atop a small hill which can be accessed by climbing some 80-100 stairs. Large statue of Gomateshwara inside the complex. You can view Chaturmukha Basadi from the complex. Good views of the surroundings.

One of the Best Place to Visit in Karkala. Its near the Bus Stand Itself.. Walking Distance. However, you would have to walk another 200 steps to reach this place where the Statue is. Must Visit. It is a worship place for jains too.

It is relatively safe to go alone. Some car driving is required from Mangalore and this is where you need to take a reliable driver along. The place itself is full of tourists and safe.
