I am giving a 5 star yes ! And that’s because I use to enjoy the show each time I visit Nigeria I am always there to see femi most especially.
But yesterday I went to Made show and the way the people at the gate look down on us it was shocking their attitude of discrimination without knowing who we are was awful .I love to be at the front role so I can see the show properly .And I have no Idea that I need to make a reservation online before so on getting there after paying the individual tickets for 3 of us and find out on getting inside that there is no space at the front role where I normally seat when ever am there ! So i decided to find out how much it cost to use the front role and the ladies at the gate reply was the table are for VIP so I ask the VIP are the people that paid right ? And she reply pls the tables are not for my type. I was so disappointed with there attitude because I have always love the African shrine. I think they should work on the worker with good manners thanks . But anyway the new African shrine is still a place to be 👌🏼 when ever you visit Lagos Nigeria 👍

I was lucky enough to be taken here while on a work trip to Lagos and wouldn’t have missed it for anything. So great to see Femi Kuti (it was a Thursday - I’m not sure how often he plays). Lots of people there and good drinks service. We arrived about 9.30pm and it was in full swing. Great atmosphere - loved it! Interestingly my colleague who is from Lagos has only been a couple of times and said it’s more a thing for tourists. But if you’re a tourist, what’s not to like!

It's a very nice place to be. It's one of the freest place on earth. At the New Afrika Shrine, you're free to do whatever you wish to do as long as you aren't hurting anyone.

I recently worked with few tourist from Finland on a brief week day visit to Nigeria. They were so excited when I mentioned the visit to the African shrine while we were at Fela museum though I explained the concept to them. A lot of them were disappointed when we got there. I asked for feed back and some said they imagined the place to be a voodoo shrine kind of place. While others said they were afraid of the high numbers of young men, smokers hanging around the place even without a musical show as I've explained before.

This was a must go for me on my second visit to Lagos, with only a few hours before leaving for Nairobi, I had to check in and drink me some palm wine. It seemed as if they were setting up for a performance but I had a flight early the next day I left at 10 pm. Fun fact that is the only place in Lagos you can smoke weed and not get arrested. I am so going back to expereince the music, next time.

I was with a band who were playing here as part of Felabration. The place is much bigger than I expected and has a great atmosphere. There were a lot of people smoking. The place got very full, there were thousands of people there but that was because it was a special night, the previous night I was there it was not nearly so full and was more chilled. The acoustics are not good which is a pity and when it gets packed it can feel a bit unsafe. Overall I would say that if you are going to be in this part of Lagos or indeed in Lagos at all, you must visit this place, it's an amazing experience.

An absolute must when visiting Lagos. Femi Kuti has a show on every Sunday and I was lucky to have also being able to see him perform with his son. What an amazing energy they have on stage.
Besides there being signs up that no drugs allowed there is a constant smell of weed but as long as you dont mind that its a great place to hang out.

If you don't mind the smell of people smoking weed, then you can spend a couple of hours here just chilling with friends.
