We took a easy going trip with a group of 25 peolpe and 3 kids. Better to visit the mounting in the beggining of the summer (or may). In september all grass was yellow and looked like the desert

Stopped a little ways past the Selim Pass on our way to Sevan about a few weeks ago to see Mount Armaghan near Madina. It`s a fairly easy drive up the mountain in a 4x4 or similar type vehicle, it does come near 3000m above sea level so if you aren’t used to it, take your time and breathe when you get up there. The lake in the crater is marvelous to see although a bit grimy when we were there, certainly not for swimming. We took our time walking around the crater and enjoying the stunning views.

On the top, it has a volcanic crater with diameter of 150m which is filled with water. The beautiful surroundings around this lake of volcanic origin make it one of the best places of interest in Armenia. From time to time, the top of the mountain is covered by fog. The legend says that when the fairies come to drink water: the fog appears and doesn’t allow people to see them. It is said that only lucky people have the opportunity to see this.
