Los Cangilones is a must-see. Firstly, just as a structure it's amazing to see how the water has carved out the rock. Secondly, the water is absolutely perfect temperature. I've never been more comfortable. It's so much fun to jump in and swim around. The one thing I did not enjoy was that when I was there, a group of locals was washing their hair in the water. That is the best way to destroy a water ecosystem

Loved it. Beautiful nature, fun place to " chill " from the scorching heat in Chiriqui. Worth visiting and relative easy ride - compared to other spots in the area.
My only disappointment: I could not believe people would leave behind so much of their trash... can tops, milk cartons... such a gorgeous spot that offers free entertainment for the locals and an amazing experience for " outsiders" deserves more " love " from its visitors. If you go visit, help keep it clean and collect your trash.

" Cuando viajes, no dejes mas que tus huellas..." Lleva tu basura contigo para que los que vengas despues de ti puedan disfrutar tanto cuanto tu.
WARNING! Check the weather before planning a visit and if there have been heavy rains in the mountains to avoid the risk of washaway. I hear they have happened in rivers in Chiriqui in the past.

I would like to say that this was a good surprise! I definitely would recommend a visit to Los Cangilones! Pay for a tour, if you are far from it (like Boquete), otherwise driving there is a lovely adventure on its own! Half a day is all you need in this place.

Very atractive spot along the river. Great for a swim or just relaxing in the shadow. Dont come during.weekend - too many people around! And they also charge parking fee at that time.

While researching things to do for our upcoming trip to Panama, my husband learned about Los Cangilones de Gualaca. What a great place! It's natural beauty is a sight to see, and jumping off the cliffs to the water in the gorge below is exhilarating and lots of fun. The gorge leads to a nice little swimming hole. It can be a little nerve wracking to take the first leap, but do it! You'll be glad you did! We arrived early on a Sunday morning because we were told it can get very crowded on the weekends with the locals. There was hardly anyone there during our time at the canyon. We were also told that sometimes there is someone collecting money to help with maintenance/clean up of the area. This was not the case for us. Be sure to bring your swimsuit, sunscreen and change of clothes. Pack a picnic lunch if you plan to stay for the day since it's in a remote location. We could have spent the whole day swimming and jumping into the river gorge, but we already had plans to travel to Vulcan that afternoon.

Each year I pass by here at least once, and take in the scenery... I don't swim here anymore as the thrill has worn off... plus you do need to be a decent swimmer to swim down in the ravine... a great natural wonder if not a small one.

We went to Los Cangilones with Beyond Adventure Tours and had an awesome experience with our guide Rolando. The river runs through these beautiful natural channels carved in the land by the lava that once flowed in the area. It is an incredible site to see. Beyond the beauty is the fun of being able to jump into these gorges from a variety of heights into the super deep and warm water below. A great place to get your adrenaline flowing or to relax in the warm flowing waters or to enjoy a nice sunny day. I would definitely consider this a place for kids of all ages 8 months - 80! A little fun for everyone. Take the trip or reach out to our favorite tour guide Rolando at Beyond Adventure Tours for the time of your life.

We booked a tour out to the canyon through our hostel (Refugio del Rio - amazing place) and it turned out to be just us two with our lovely guide.

As it had rained the night prior we were worried of getting there to find the water all murky and brown, luckily it was beautiful and blue/green clear! We went quite early arriving there at 8.30am and had it to ourselves for a good hour or so jumping, swimming, and climbing the rock sides.

A local we met there told us the river has the ability to fluctuate between 4-8 metres. The river rapids current wasn't excessively strong and only can be felt really up at the start of the Canyon. Nothing to be afraid of as it just floats you down stream through the canyon to a wide shallow still opening where you can climb out easily.

Plenty of different sized rocks to jump off for everyone's liking!!!! Take snacks & make a picnic there, you need to pay $3 or $4 on the weekends. Take your rubbish home!!!

Great day!
