Impressive monument in a beautiful area with flowers and trees as a fine setting. Combined with an interesting museum, would recommend with a guided tour.

The memorial stands for a very important cause as the battle that was fought in this place was so important and in case Armenians didn't win In this battle there would have been no more Armenia left by now ... I enjoyed walking through the memorial and exploring the floors of the museum that has very knowledgeable guides who can explain to you all particulars .

Wonderful destination to understand Armenian ethnic cultural differences and way of esthetical thinking of this brave and ancient nation ... You can be inspired here by geniun of material and spiritual heritage of Armenia beginning of its roots ... It is only one hour car way from Yerevan and you can find the memorial complex and museum in it very easily ...

We recently visited this place with my family. Sardarapat Memorial is a memorial complex to the Battle of Sardarapat located in the village of Araks, in the Armavir Province of Armenia, just 45 km from Yerevan. In 1968 during the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Sardarapat that took place on May 22–26, 1918 a memorial park was laid out on the spot of the battlefield. The complex consist of number of monuments, alleys, museums, etc. The territory is very clean, with a lot of trees and flowers and a lot of local and tourists are visiting, especially during weekends. Sardarapat Ethnography and Liberation Movement History Museum that is located inside the complex is a must visit - you can also take a guided tour, which is about 10$ for the whole museum tour. Every year on May 28 the First Republic Day is celebrated at Sardarapat, with dances, musicals, and fireworks.

Only about 40 minutes from Yerevan, and a fantastic look into history. You MUST go to the museum and you MUST get a tour. Takes about an hour and a half. I've lived here over 2 years and I learned a lot. And the museum building itself is beautiful.
