A must visit attraction in Bali! See chocolate being made from bean to bar...

A must visit attraction in Bali! See chocolate being made from bean to bar at Pod Chocolate Factory & Cafe. All from locally grown cocoa pods, Pod Chocolate supports local farmers to grow organic while producing incredible chocolate. The cafe is perfect for adults and kids too, and guess what? It's located at Bali Elephant Camp, so you'll see elephants roaming in beautiful surroundings! Lunch, drinks (including hot and iced chocolate) and homemade ice-cream are available in the cafe.

The Pod Chocolate Tour starts with an amazing chocolate ‘shot’ welcome drink, after which you’ll be taken through each step of the chocolate making process from the cacao tree to raw cacao, fermenting and roasting of the beans and the final transformation into delicious Pod Chocolate. You’ll taste raw cacao, roasted beans and our handmade Bali chocolates before making your own chocolate elephants to take home.

Pod is a short drive north of the Sangeh Monkey Forest, about 30min from Ubud, just over an hour from Sanur/ Seminyak/ Kuta and about 1.5hrs from Jimbaran/ Nusa Dua. Find us on Google Maps (pod chocolate bali) and checkout our website, Facebook and Instagram #podchocolate.

You can book with us in advance or use your own car/ driver. The 'telephone number' is our reservations number open until 10pm. The 'fax number' is a direct line to our Factory & Cafe in case you need help with directions!

*UPDATE: Pod Chocolate also have a Shop & Cafe on Sunset Road Kuta! There is no chocolate production here but an extensive lunch and DESSERT menu. It's in between Rip Curl and Carrefour on Sunset Road.

**Please email from wholesale enquiries (hotels, restaurants) as Pod also produces couverture chocolate in kg block and chocolate drops for patisserie, baking & chocolatiers and a range of products for hotels, amenities & mini-bars!

The Chocolate pod is a great experience for families with any age children. They have 3 honey bears and you can take photos with them. Must call in advance to check if they are in good mood. Price 10 USD. Also you can make your own chocolate and take it with you. We eat so much of the samples and... More

We were charged 95000 IDR each just to enter the grounds as it's shared with an elephant park which we had no interest in. Pretty sure that Elephants aren't native to Bali and they were being marched around for unfeeling tourists who wanted the novelty of a ride. We thought the cafe would be a place for lunch but the... We visited POD chocolate factory when we were on our honeymoon in Bali. It was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and showed us around the place. They showed us the detailed process of how chocolates are made at POD. We tasted almost all of their lovely yummy chocolates. It was like a mini meal. We also made... More

We visited the pod chocolate place today as I love chocolate and also had an opportunity to get some pics with the sun bear. We rode from Ubud on scooters, but beware of the entrance as it is super slippery and I came off on the way down. The staff there were fantastic. They rushed to my aid and helped... More

Informative and fun, enjoyed tasting all the flavours of the chocolate but a bit distressing being near the elephants. Also never received the lunch we had paid for to be included with our trekking tour and this.

One of my highlights of visiting Bali was stopping by the POD chocolate factory. They have elephants on site. They have an adorable baby elephant that you can also pet and feed. But the best part was hanging out with Ajing!!! She is this beautiful bear and she was so loving. No they are not drugged! She sat on my... More

This is a well run operation with a relaxed atmosphere, elephant riding if that's your thing (although we only watched). The highlight for us was making our own chocolate - the kids loved it & really enjoyed adding treats into their chocolate... we got to see a baby elephant that was only 2 days old, which was lovely to see...... First thing to mention would be that this is situation in the True Bali Experience. Admission to the whole park is 10 USD and includes a free chocolate drink (more of a chocolate shot glass). The chocolate is average but has some interesting flavour variations. The "factory" is less a factory and more of a workshop. The sun bear is... More

It is a tiny chocolate shop situated amongst all the elephant rides. Horrible staff who couldn't speak English and were not friendly. It said on the website it comes with a tour and demonstration of how chocolate is made - that didn't happen. We also wanted to take a photo with the honey bear but apparently you can only do...
